أَفَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
(Then the speaker will address other people of Paradise in delight and wonder, saying,) “Are we not then to die anymore
إِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
beyond our first death, nor are we going to be punished?”
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
This is, indeed, the great achievement.
لِمِثۡلِ هَٰذَا فَلۡيَعۡمَلِ ٱلۡعَٰمِلُونَ
For this kind (of achievement), all workers must work.
أَذَٰلِكَ خَيۡرٞ نُّزُلًا أَمۡ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
Is that (blissful Paradise) better for hospitality or the tree of zaqqūm ?
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَٰهَا فِتۡنَةٗ لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
We have made it a test for the unjust.
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٞ تَخۡرُجُ فِيٓ أَصۡلِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
It is a tree that comes forth in the bottom of Jahannam.
طَلۡعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ
Its fruits are like the heads of devils.
فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَأٓكِلُونَ مِنۡهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ
So, they have to eat from it and have to fill their bellies with it.
