Az-Zukhruf
حمٓ
Hā Mīm.
وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ
By the manifest Book,
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَٰهُ قُرۡءَٰنًا عَرَبِيّٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ
We have made it an Arabic Qur’ān, so that you may understand.
وَإِنَّهُۥ فِيٓ أُمِّ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَدَيۡنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ
And it is, in the Mother of the Book (the Preserved Tablet) with us, surely sublime, full of wisdom.
أَفَنَضۡرِبُ عَنكُمُ ٱلذِّكۡرَ صَفۡحًا أَن كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمٗا مُّسۡرِفِينَ
Shall We then take the advice away from you because you are a transgressing people?
وَكَمۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن نَّبِيّٖ فِي ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
How many a messenger We have sent to the earlier people!
وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِيٍّ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
No messenger came to them, but they used to mock at him.
فَأَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُم بَطۡشٗا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
So We have destroyed those who were stronger than these (people of Makkah) in power, and the example of the earlier people has already passed.
