### الآية 102:1

> أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ [102:1]

(1) Competition in \[worldly\] increase diverts you

### الآية 102:2

> حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ [102:2]

(2) Until you visit the graveyards.\[1980\] 
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1980\]- i.e., remain in them temporarily, meaning until the Day of Resurrection.

### الآية 102:3

> كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ [102:3]

(3) No! You are going to know.

### الآية 102:4

> ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ [102:4]

(4) Then, no! You are going to know.

### الآية 102:5

> كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ [102:5]

(5) No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...\[1981\] 
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1981\]- The conclusion of this verse is estimated to be "...you would not have been distracted from preparing for the Hereafter."

### الآية 102:6

> لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ [102:6]

(6) You will surely see the Hellfire.

### الآية 102:7

> ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ [102:7]

(7) Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.\[1982\] 
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1982\]- i.e., with actual eyesight.

### الآية 102:8

> ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ [102:8]

(8) Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.\[1983\] 
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1983\]- i.e., the comforts of worldly life and whether you were grateful to Allāh for His blessings.
