### الآية 106:1

> لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ [106:1]

(1) For the accustomed security of the Quraysh\[1996\] -
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1996\]- i.e., the honor and reputation Allāh had given them as guardians of the Holy Kaʿbah, which allowed them to travel without fear of being harmed.

### الآية 106:2

> إِيلَافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ [106:2]

(2) Their accustomed security \[in\] the caravan of winter and summer\[1997\] -
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1997\]- i.e., the trading caravans that traveled south in winter and north in summer.

### الآية 106:3

> فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَٰذَا الْبَيْتِ [106:3]

(3) Let them worship the Lord of this House,\[1998\] 
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1998\]- i.e., the Kaʿbah.

### الآية 106:4

> الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُمْ مِنْ جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُمْ مِنْ خَوْفٍ [106:4]

(4) Who has fed them, \[saving them\] from hunger and made them safe, \[saving them\] from fear.
