### الآية 50:1

> ق ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ [50:1]

Qāf. By the Glorious Qur’an!

### الآية 50:2

> بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَنْ جَاءَهُمْ مُنْذِرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ [50:2]

But they wonder that a warner has come to them from among themselves, so the disbelievers say, “This is something strange!

### الآية 50:3

> أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌ بَعِيدٌ [50:3]

What! Is it when we die and become dust \[will we return to life\]? That is a far-fetched return.”

### الآية 50:4

> قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنْقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِنْدَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ [50:4]

We certainly know what the earth consumes of them \[after their death\], and with Us is a Preserved Record.

### الآية 50:5

> بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَرِيجٍ [50:5]

Rather they rejected the truth when it came to them, so they are in a state of confusion.

### الآية 50:6

> أَفَلَمْ يَنْظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِنْ فُرُوجٍ [50:6]

Have they not then looked at the sky above them – how We built it and adorned it \[with stars\], and it has no rifts?

### الآية 50:7

> وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ [50:7]

And We have spread out the earth and set therein firm mountains, and caused to grow therein plants of every pleasant kind,

### الآية 50:8

> تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُنِيبٍ [50:8]

as a source of insight and a reminder to every slave who turns \[to Allah\].

### الآية 50:9

> وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً مُبَارَكًا فَأَنْبَتْنَا بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ وَحَبَّ الْحَصِيدِ [50:9]

And We send down from the sky blessed rain, with which We cause to grow gardens and grain for harvest,

### الآية 50:10

> وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ [50:10]

and towering palm trees having clustered fruit,

### الآية 50:11

> رِزْقًا لِلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ الْخُرُوجُ [50:11]

as a provision for people, and We revive thereby a dead land; likewise will be the resurrection.

### الآية 50:12

> كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ [50:12]

The people of Noah rejected \[the truth\] before them, as well as the people of the Water-pit of Rass and Thamūd,

### الآية 50:13

> وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ [50:13]

and so did ‘Ād, Pharaoh, the people of Lot,

### الآية 50:14

> وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ [50:14]

and the dwellers of the Forest, and the people of Tubba‘. All of them rejected the messengers, so My warning was fulfilled.

### الآية 50:15

> أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ [50:15]

Were We wearied by their first creation? No indeed, yet they are in doubt about the second creation.

### الآية 50:16

> وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ [50:16]

We have created man and know what his soul whispers within him, for We are closer to him than his jugular vein.

### الآية 50:17

> إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ [50:17]

When the two angel scribes, constantly accompanying him, one on the right, and the other on the left.

### الآية 50:18

> مَا يَلْفِظُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ [50:18]

Not a single word he utters but there is with him a vigilant watcher, ready \[to record it\].

### الآية 50:19

> وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنْتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ [50:19]

The throes of death will come with the truth. This is what you were trying to avoid.

### الآية 50:20

> وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ [50:20]

And the Trumpet will be blown; that is the Day of \[the given\] warning.

### الآية 50:21

> وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ [50:21]

Everyone will come, accompanied by an angel to drive him and another to testify.

### الآية 50:22

> لَقَدْ كُنْتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنْكَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ [50:22]

“You were heedless of this; now We have removed your veil, so your vision is sharp Today.”

### الآية 50:23

> وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ هَٰذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيدٌ [50:23]

His angel-companion will say, “Here is the record ready with me.”

### الآية 50:24

> أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ [50:24]

\[It will be said to the two angels\], “Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever,

### الآية 50:25

> مَنَّاعٍ لِلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُرِيبٍ [50:25]

every withholder of good, transgressor, and doubter,

### الآية 50:26

> الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ [50:26]

who set up with Allah another god. Throw him into the severe punishment.”

### الآية 50:27

> ۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَٰكِنْ كَانَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ [50:27]

His \[devil\] companion will say, “Our Lord, I did not mislead him, but he himself was far astray.”

### الآية 50:28

> قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ بِالْوَعِيدِ [50:28]

Allah will say, “Do not argue in My presence, for I had already given you the warning.

### الآية 50:29

> مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ [50:29]

My Word cannot be changed, nor am I unjust to My slaves.”

### الآية 50:30

> يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ [50:30]

\[Beware of\] the Day when We will say to Hell, “Have you reached your fill?” It will say, “Are there any more?”

### الآية 50:31

> وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ [50:31]

Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far off.

### الآية 50:32

> هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ [50:32]

\[It will be said\], “This is what you were promised; this is for everyone who constantly turned \[to Allah\] and was dutiful,

### الآية 50:33

> مَنْ خَشِيَ الرَّحْمَٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَجَاءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُنِيبٍ [50:33]

who feared the Most Compassionate unseen, and came with a devoted heart.

### الآية 50:34

> ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُلُودِ [50:34]

Enter it in peace. This is the Day of eternity.”

### الآية 50:35

> لَهُمْ مَا يَشَاءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ [50:35]

They will have therein all what they wish for, and We have yet more.

### الآية 50:36

> وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا فِي الْبِلَادِ هَلْ مِنْ مَحِيصٍ [50:36]

How many nations We destroyed before them \[Makkans\] who were stronger than them in might! They traveled through the land. Did they find any escape?

### الآية 50:37

> إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَنْ كَانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ [50:37]

Indeed, in that is a reminder for anyone who has a \[mindful\] heart or lends an attentive ear.

### الآية 50:38

> وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِنْ لُغُوبٍ [50:38]

Indeed, We created the heavens and earth and all that is between them in six days, and no weariness touched Us.

### الآية 50:39

> فَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ [50:39]

So bear patiently \[O Prophet\] what they say, and glorify the praise of your Lord before sunrise and before sunset.

### الآية 50:40

> وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ [50:40]

And glorify Him in the night and after the prayers.

### الآية 50:41

> وَاسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ الْمُنَادِ مِنْ مَكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ [50:41]

And listen! On the Day when the Caller will call out from a nearby place,

### الآية 50:42

> يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ الصَّيْحَةَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُرُوجِ [50:42]

the Day when they will hear the Blast \[of the second Trumpet\] in truth. That is the Day of resurrection.

### الآية 50:43

> إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا الْمَصِيرُ [50:43]

Indeed, it is We Who give life and cause death, and to Us is the final return.

### الآية 50:44

> يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ [50:44]

On the Day when the earth will be rent asunder for them as they hasten forth \[from their graves\]. That is an easy gathering for Us.

### الآية 50:45

> نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَا أَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مَنْ يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ [50:45]

We know best what they say, and you are not there to compel them to believe. But remind with the Qur’an those who fear My warning.
