### الآية 52:1

> وَالطُّورِ [52:1]

By the mount of Tūr,

### الآية 52:2

> وَكِتَابٍ مَسْطُورٍ [52:2]

and by the Book inscribed

### الآية 52:3

> فِي رَقٍّ مَنْشُورٍ [52:3]

on an unrolled parchment,

### الآية 52:4

> وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ [52:4]

and by the much-frequented House \[in heaven\],

### الآية 52:5

> وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ [52:5]

and by the canopy raised high,

### الآية 52:6

> وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ [52:6]

and by the sea ever filled.

### الآية 52:7

> إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ [52:7]

The punishment of your Lord will surely come to pass;

### الآية 52:8

> مَا لَهُ مِنْ دَافِعٍ [52:8]

there is none who can avert it.

### الآية 52:9

> يَوْمَ تَمُورُ السَّمَاءُ مَوْرًا [52:9]

On the Day when the heaven will convulse violently,

### الآية 52:10

> وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا [52:10]

and the mountains will move a horrible movement,

### الآية 52:11

> فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ [52:11]

then woe to the deniers on that Day,

### الآية 52:12

> الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ [52:12]

those who amuse themselves in falsehood.

### الآية 52:13

> يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا [52:13]

On the Day when they will be shoved into the Fire forcefully,

### الآية 52:14

> هَٰذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِي كُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ [52:14]

\[They will be told,\] “This is the Fire which you used to deny.

### الآية 52:15

> أَفَسِحْرٌ هَٰذَا أَمْ أَنْتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ [52:15]

Is this \[punishment\] magic, or do you not see?

### الآية 52:16

> اصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوا أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ [52:16]

Burn in it, whether you bear it patiently or impatiently, it makes no difference to you; you are recompensed only for what you used to do.”

### الآية 52:17

> إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ [52:17]

Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and bliss,

### الآية 52:18

> فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ [52:18]

enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of the Blazing Fire.

### الآية 52:19

> كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ [52:19]

“Eat and drink pleasantly for what you used to do,

### الآية 52:20

> مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُمْ بِحُورٍ عِينٍ [52:20]

reclining on lined up couches”. And We will marry them to houris of wide beautiful eyes.

### الآية 52:21

> وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُمْ مِنْ عَمَلِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ [52:21]

As for those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will cause their offspring to join them, and will not detract anything from \[the reward of\] their deeds. Everyone will be accountable for what he earned.

### الآية 52:22

> وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُمْ بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ [52:22]

And We will provide them with whatever fruit and meat they desire.

### الآية 52:23

> يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ [52:23]

They will pass around to one another a glass \[of pure wine\] which does not lead to idle talk or sin.

### الآية 52:24

> ۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَكْنُونٌ [52:24]

They will be served by their servant boys, as if they were well-protected pearls.

### الآية 52:25

> وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ [52:25]

They will turn to one another with questions.

### الآية 52:26

> قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ [52:26]

They will say, “Before this, we used to be in awe \[of Allah\] when we were living among our people.

### الآية 52:27

> فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ [52:27]

Therefore Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.

### الآية 52:28

> إِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ [52:28]

Indeed, we used to call upon Him before. He is indeed the Most Kind, Most Merciful.”

### الآية 52:29

> فَذَكِّرْ فَمَا أَنْتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ [52:29]

So keep exhorting \[O Prophet\], for you are not, by the grace of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.

### الآية 52:30

> أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِهِ رَيْبَ الْمَنُونِ [52:30]

Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await a misfortune”?

### الآية 52:31

> قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا فَإِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ [52:31]

Say, “Wait, I too am waiting with you.”

### الآية 52:32

> أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَامُهُمْ بِهَٰذَا ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ [52:32]

Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a transgressing people?

### الآية 52:33

> أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُ ۚ بَلْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ [52:33]

Or do they say, “He has made it \[the Qur’an\] up”? Rather, they are not willing to believe.

### الآية 52:34

> فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِثْلِهِ إِنْ كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ [52:34]

Then let them produce a discourse like this, if they are truthful.

### الآية 52:35

> أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ [52:35]

Were they created by none, or were they the creators \[of themselves\]?

### الآية 52:36

> أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۚ بَلْ لَا يُوقِنُونَ [52:36]

Or did they create the heavens and earth? Rather, they are not certain in faith.

### الآية 52:37

> أَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَيْطِرُونَ [52:37]

Or do they possess the treasures of your Lord, or do they have full control \[of everything\]?

### الآية 52:38

> أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُمْ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ [52:38]

Or do they have a stairway \[to the heaven\] by which they eavesdrop? Then let those who eavesdrop produce a compelling proof.

### الآية 52:39

> أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ [52:39]

Or does He have daughters while you have sons?

### الآية 52:40

> أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُمْ مِنْ مَغْرَمٍ مُثْقَلُونَ [52:40]

Or are you asking them \[O Prophet\] for a reward so they find it too burdensome?

### الآية 52:41

> أَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ [52:41]

Or do they have \[knowledge of\] the unseen so they are writing it down?

### الآية 52:42

> أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ [52:42]

Or do they intend a plot \[against the Prophet\]? But the plot of the disbelievers will rebound against themselves.

### الآية 52:43

> أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ [52:43]

Or do they have a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah far above what they associate with Him.

### الآية 52:44

> وَإِنْ يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا سَحَابٌ مَرْكُومٌ [52:44]

If they were to see pieces of the sky falling down, they would still say, “\[This is only\] a mass of clouds.”

### الآية 52:45

> فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ [52:45]

So leave them alone until they encounter their Day in which they will be struck down,

### الآية 52:46

> يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ [52:46]

the Day their plots will not avail them in the least, nor will they be helped.

### الآية 52:47

> وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ [52:47]

And for the wrongdoers, there will be another punishment before that, but most of them do not know.

### الآية 52:48

> وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ [52:48]

Be patient \[O Prophet\] with your Lord’s decree, for indeed you are under Our \[watchful\] Eyes. And glorify the praises of your Lord when you rise.

### الآية 52:49

> وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَارَ النُّجُومِ [52:49]

And glorify Him at night and when the stars fade away.
