Translation of Surah القمر from "Mufti Taqi Usmani - English translation" in الإنجليزية. ### الآية 54:1 > اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ [54:1] Al-Qamar --------- --- ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ The Hour (of doom) has drawn near, and the moon has split asunder. --- ### الآية 54:2 > وَإِنْ يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُسْتَمِرٌّ [54:2] وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةٗ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرٞ مُّسۡتَمِرّٞ When these people see a sign, they turn away and say, “(This is) a transient magic.” --- ### الآية 54:3 > وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُسْتَقِرٌّ [54:3] وَكَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرٖ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ They have rejected (the Truth) and followed their desires, while every matter has to settle (at some time). --- ### الآية 54:4 > وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْبَاءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ [54:4] وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ And there has come to them as much news (of the earlier communities) as it is enough to deter, --- ### الآية 54:5 > حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ [54:5] حِكۡمَةُۢ بَٰلِغَةٞۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ (containing) a perfect wisdom. But the warnings are of no avail (to them). --- ### الآية 54:6 > فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيْءٍ نُكُرٍ [54:6] فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ يَوۡمَ يَدۡعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ نُّكُرٍ Therefore, turn aside (O Prophet,) from them. (They will see the reality) on the day in which the caller will call (them) to a gruesome object. --- ### الآية 54:7 > خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُنْتَشِرٌ [54:7] خُشَّعًا أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمۡ جَرَادٞ مُّنتَشِرٞ With their eyes humbled, they will come out of the graves like locusts spread all over, --- ### الآية 54:8 > مُهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ [54:8] مُّهۡطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِۖ يَقُولُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوۡمٌ عَسِرٞ rushing quickly towards the caller. (On that Day) the disbelievers will say, “This is a hard day.” --- ### الآية 54:9 > ۞ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ [54:9] ۞كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٖ فَكَذَّبُواْ عَبۡدَنَا وَقَالُواْ مَجۡنُونٞ وَٱزۡدُجِرَ The people of NūH denied (the truth) before them. So they rejected Our servant, and said, “(He is) a madman”, and he was (also) threatened (by them). --- ### الآية 54:10 > فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ [54:10] فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَغۡلُوبٞ فَٱنتَصِرۡ So he prayed to his Lord saying, “I am overpowered, so defend (me).” --- ### الآية 54:11 > فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَاءٍ مُنْهَمِرٍ [54:11] فَفَتَحۡنَآ أَبۡوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٖ مُّنۡهَمِرٖ So We opened the gates of the sky with water pouring forth profusely, --- ### الآية 54:12 > وَفَجَّرْنَا الْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاءُ عَلَىٰ أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ [54:12] وَفَجَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ عُيُونٗا فَٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرٖ قَدۡ قُدِرَ and We caused the earth to gush forth as springs; so the water (of both kinds) met together for a destined event. --- ### الآية 54:13 > وَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُرٍ [54:13] وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلۡوَٰحٖ وَدُسُرٖ And We caused him (NūH) to board that (ship) which had planks and nails, --- ### الآية 54:14 > تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاءً لِمَنْ كَانَ كُفِرَ [54:14] تَجۡرِي بِأَعۡيُنِنَا جَزَآءٗ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ which sailed under Our Eyes, as a reward for the one who was rejected (by the infidels). --- ### الآية 54:15 > وَلَقَدْ تَرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ [54:15] وَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَٰهَآ ءَايَةٗ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ And We left it (the ship) as a sign. So, is there one to take lesson? --- ### الآية 54:16 > فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ [54:16] فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ Then how was My torment and My warnings? --- ### الآية 54:17 > وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ [54:17] وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ Indeed We have made the Qur’ān easy for seeking advice. So, is there one to heed to the advice? --- ### الآية 54:18 > كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ [54:18] كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٞ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ (The people of) ‘Ād rejected (their prophet). So how was My torment and My warnings? --- ### الآية 54:19 > إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُسْتَمِرٍّ [54:19] إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٖ مُّسۡتَمِرّٖ We did send to them a furious wind in a day of continuous misfortune, --- ### الآية 54:20 > تَنْزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُنْقَعِرٍ [54:20] تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٖ مُّنقَعِرٖ plucking people away, as if they were trunks of uprooted palm-trees. --- ### الآية 54:21 > فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ [54:21] فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ So how was My torment and My warnings? --- ### الآية 54:22 > وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ [54:22] وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ Indeed We have made the Qur’ān easy for seeking advice. So, is there one to heed to the advice? --- ### الآية 54:23 > كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِالنُّذُرِ [54:23] كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ (The people of) Thamūd rejected the warners. --- ### الآية 54:24 > فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِنَّا وَاحِدًا نَتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ [54:24] فَقَالُوٓاْ أَبَشَرٗا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدٗا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٍ So they said, “Shall we follow a single human being from among us? Then we will be in error and insanity. --- ### الآية 54:25 > أَأُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ [54:25] أَءُلۡقِيَ ٱلذِّكۡرُ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٞ Is it that the advice has been cast upon him alone out of all of us? No, but he is a bragging liar.” --- ### الآية 54:26 > سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْأَشِرُ [54:26] سَيَعۡلَمُونَ غَدٗا مَّنِ ٱلۡكَذَّابُ ٱلۡأَشِرُ Tomorrow they will know who the bragging liar is! --- ### الآية 54:27 > إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ [54:27] إِنَّا مُرۡسِلُواْ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتۡنَةٗ لَّهُمۡ فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; so watch them (O SāliH,) and keep patience, --- ### الآية 54:28 > وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُحْتَضَرٌ [54:28] وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ أَنَّ ٱلۡمَآءَ قِسۡمَةُۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلُّ شِرۡبٖ مُّحۡتَضَرٞ and tell them that water (of the well) is to be shared between them (and the she-camel), so as the right of having water shall be attended by each (alternatively). --- ### الآية 54:29 > فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ [54:29] فَنَادَوۡاْ صَاحِبَهُمۡ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ Then they called their man (to kill the she-camel,) so he undertook (the task) and killed (the she-camel). --- ### الآية 54:30 > فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ [54:30] فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ So how was My torment and My warnings? --- ### الآية 54:31 > إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ [54:31] إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَكَانُواْ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ We sent upon them a single Cry, and they were like crushed leafs of a hedge-builder. --- ### الآية 54:32 > وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ [54:32] وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ Indeed We have made the Qur’ān easy for seeking advice. So, is there one to heed to the advice? --- ### الآية 54:33 > كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ [54:33] كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ The people of LūT rejected the warners. --- ### الآية 54:34 > إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ ۖ نَجَّيْنَاهُمْ بِسَحَرٍ [54:34] إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٖۖ نَّجَّيۡنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٖ We sent upon them a rain of stones, except the family of LūT whom We saved in the last hours of night, --- ### الآية 54:35 > نِعْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِنَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ شَكَرَ [54:35] نِّعۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِنَاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي مَن شَكَرَ as a grace from Us. This is how We reward the one who offers gratitude. --- ### الآية 54:36 > وَلَقَدْ أَنْذَرَهُمْ بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ [54:36] وَلَقَدۡ أَنذَرَهُم بَطۡشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوۡاْ بِٱلنُّذُرِ And he (LūT) had certainly warned them of Our grasp, but they disputed the warnings. --- ### الآية 54:37 > وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَنْ ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ [54:37] وَلَقَدۡ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيۡفِهِۦ فَطَمَسۡنَآ أَعۡيُنَهُمۡ فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ And they had even tried to tempt him against his guests (so that they may snatch them away for bad purpose,) but We blinded their eyes: “Now taste My torment and My warnings!” --- ### الآية 54:38 > وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُمْ بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُسْتَقِرٌّ [54:38] وَلَقَدۡ صَبَّحَهُم بُكۡرَةً عَذَابٞ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ And on the next morning, a lasting torment overtook them: --- ### الآية 54:39 > فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ [54:39] فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ “Now taste My torment and My warnings.” --- ### الآية 54:40 > وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ [54:40] وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ Indeed We have made the Qur’ān easy for seeking advice. So, is there one to heed to the advice? --- ### الآية 54:41 > وَلَقَدْ جَاءَ آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ النُّذُرُ [54:41] وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ And the warners came to the family of Fir‘aun (Pharaoh). --- ### الآية 54:42 > كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ [54:42] كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ أَخۡذَ عَزِيزٖ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ (But) they rejected all Our signs; so We seized them- a seizure by One Mighty, Powerful. --- ### الآية 54:43 > أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أُولَٰئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُمْ بَرَاءَةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ [54:43] أَكُفَّارُكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكُمۡ أَمۡ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٞ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ Are the disbelievers among you in a better position than all of the aforesaid (punished people), or do you have immunity (recorded) in the sacred books? --- ### الآية 54:44 > أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُنْتَصِرٌ [54:44] أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِيعٞ مُّنتَصِرٞ Or do they say, “We are a large group, well-defended.”? --- ### الآية 54:45 > سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ [54:45] سَيُهۡزَمُ ٱلۡجَمۡعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ Soon this ‘large group’ shall be defeated, and all of them will turn their backs. --- ### الآية 54:46 > بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ [54:46] بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدۡهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ Rather the Hour (of judgment) is their appointed time (for their full recompense), and the Hour is more calamitous and much more bitter. --- ### الآية 54:47 > إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ [54:47] إِنَّ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٖ Surely the guilty ones are in error and madness. --- ### الآية 54:48 > يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ [54:48] يَوۡمَ يُسۡحَبُونَ فِي ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُواْ مَسَّ سَقَرَ On the Day when they will be dragged into the Fire on their faces, (it will be said to them,) “Taste the touch of Hell.” --- ### الآية 54:49 > إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ [54:49] إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٖ Verily, We have created every thing according to (Our) predestination. --- ### الآية 54:50 > وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍ بِالْبَصَرِ [54:50] وَمَآ أَمۡرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٞ كَلَمۡحِۭ بِٱلۡبَصَرِ And (implementation of) Our command is no more than a single act like the twinkling of an eye. --- ### الآية 54:51 > وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ [54:51] وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ We have destroyed people like you; so, is there one to take lesson? --- ### الآية 54:52 > وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِي الزُّبُرِ [54:52] وَكُلُّ شَيۡءٖ فَعَلُوهُ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ And every thing they have done is recorded in the books (of deeds). --- ### الآية 54:53 > وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُسْتَطَرٌ [54:53] وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٖ وَكَبِيرٖ مُّسۡتَطَرٌ And every thing, small and big, is written down. --- ### الآية 54:54 > إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ [54:54] إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَنَهَرٖ Of course, the God-fearing will be in gardens and rivers, --- ### الآية 54:55 > فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ مَلِيكٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ [54:55] فِي مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٖ مُّقۡتَدِرِۭ in a seat of Truth, near to the Omnipotent Sovereign. --- ## روابط ذات صلة - [النص القرآني للسورة](https://quranpedia.net/surah/1/54.md) - [كل تفاسير سورة القمر ](https://quranpedia.net/surah-tafsir/54.md) - [ترجمات سورة القمر ](https://quranpedia.net/translations/54.md) - [صفحة الكتاب: Mufti Taqi Usmani - English translation](https://quranpedia.net/book/13645.md) --- زُر [Quranpedia.net](https://quranpedia.net/surah/1/54/book/13645) — موسوعة القرآن الكريم: التفاسير، الترجمات، التلاوات، والمواضيع.
