### الآية 56:1

> إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ [56:1]

Al-Waqi'ah 
-----------

---

إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ


When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls.

---

### الآية 56:2

> لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ [56:2]

لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ


And there can be no denying of its befalling.

### الآية 56:3

> خَافِضَةٌ رَافِعَةٌ [56:3]

خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌ


It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt;

---

### الآية 56:4

> إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا [56:4]

إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗا


When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake.

---

### الآية 56:5

> وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا [56:5]

وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗا


And the mountains will be powdered to dust.

---

### الآية 56:6

> فَكَانَتْ هَبَاءً مُنْبَثًّا [56:6]

فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا


So that they will become floating dust particles.

---

### الآية 56:7

> وَكُنْتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً [56:7]

وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ


And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups).

---

### الآية 56:8

> فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ [56:8]

فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ


So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise).

### الآية 56:9

> وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ [56:9]

وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ


And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell).

### الآية 56:10

> وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ [56:10]

وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ


And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise).

### الآية 56:11

> أُولَٰئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ [56:11]

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ


These will be those nearest to Allah.

---

### الآية 56:12

> فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ [56:12]

فِي جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ


In the Gardens of delight (Paradise).

---

### الآية 56:13

> ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ [56:13]

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ


A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam).

---

### الآية 56:14

> وَقَلِيلٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ [56:14]

وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ


And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations).

---

### الآية 56:15

> عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَوْضُونَةٍ [56:15]

عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖ


(They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones,

---

### الآية 56:16

> مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ [56:16]

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ


Reclining thereon, face to face.

---

### الآية 56:17

> يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ [56:17]

يَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَ


They will be served by immortal boys,

---

### الآية 56:18

> بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِنْ مَعِينٍ [56:18]

بِأَكۡوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖ


With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine,

### الآية 56:19

> لَا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنْزِفُونَ [56:19]

لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ


Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication.

### الآية 56:20

> وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ [56:20]

وَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ


And fruit; that they may choose.

---

### الآية 56:21

> وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ [56:21]

وَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ


And the flesh of fowls that they desire.

---

### الآية 56:22

> وَحُورٌ عِينٌ [56:22]

وَحُورٌ عِينٞ


And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious),

---

### الآية 56:23

> كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ [56:23]

كَأَمۡثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِ


Like unto preserved pearls.

---

### الآية 56:24

> جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ [56:24]

جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ


A reward for what they used to do.

---

### الآية 56:25

> لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا [56:25]

لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمًا


No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.).

### الآية 56:26

> إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا [56:26]

إِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗا


But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)!

---

### الآية 56:27

> وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ [56:27]

وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ


And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand?

---

### الآية 56:28

> فِي سِدْرٍ مَخْضُودٍ [56:28]

فِي سِدۡرٖ مَّخۡضُودٖ


(They will be) among thornless lote-trees,

---

### الآية 56:29

> وَطَلْحٍ مَنْضُودٍ [56:29]

وَطَلۡحٖ مَّنضُودٖ


Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another,

---

### الآية 56:30

> وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ [56:30]

وَظِلّٖ مَّمۡدُودٖ


In shade long-extended,

---

### الآية 56:31

> وَمَاءٍ مَسْكُوبٍ [56:31]

وَمَآءٖ مَّسۡكُوبٖ


By water flowing constantly,

---

### الآية 56:32

> وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ [56:32]

وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖ


And fruit in plenty,

---

### الآية 56:33

> لَا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ [56:33]

لَّا مَقۡطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٖ


Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off,

---

### الآية 56:34

> وَفُرُشٍ مَرْفُوعَةٍ [56:34]

وَفُرُشٖ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍ


And on couches or thrones, raised high.

---

### الآية 56:35

> إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً [56:35]

إِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗ


Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation.

---

### الآية 56:36

> فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا [56:36]

فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًا


And made them virgins.

---

### الآية 56:37

> عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا [56:37]

عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابٗا


Loving (their husbands only), equal in age.

---

### الآية 56:38

> لِأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ [56:38]

لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ


For those on the Right Hand.

---

### الآية 56:39

> ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ [56:39]

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ


A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam).

---

### الآية 56:40

> وَثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ [56:40]

وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ


And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations).

---

### الآية 56:41

> وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ [56:41]

وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ


And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand?

---

### الآية 56:42

> فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ [56:42]

فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ


In fierce hot wind and boiling water,

---

### الآية 56:43

> وَظِلٍّ مِنْ يَحْمُومٍ [56:43]

وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ


And shadow of black smoke,

---

### الآية 56:44

> لَا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ [56:44]

لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ


(That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good,

---

### الآية 56:45

> إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ [56:45]

إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ


Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury,

---

### الآية 56:46

> وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنْثِ الْعَظِيمِ [56:46]

وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ


And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.)

### الآية 56:47

> وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ [56:47]

وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ


And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected?

### الآية 56:48

> أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ [56:48]

أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ


"And also our forefathers?"

---

### الآية 56:49

> قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ [56:49]

قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ


Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times.

### الآية 56:50

> لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَعْلُومٍ [56:50]

لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ


"All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day.

---

### الآية 56:51

> ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ [56:51]

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ


"Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)!

### الآية 56:52

> لَآكِلُونَ مِنْ شَجَرٍ مِنْ زَقُّومٍ [56:52]

لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ


"You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum.

---

### الآية 56:53

> فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ [56:53]

فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ


"Then you will fill your bellies therewith,

---

### الآية 56:54

> فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ [56:54]

فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ


"And drink boiling water on top of it,

---

### الآية 56:55

> فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ [56:55]

فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ


"So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!"

---

### الآية 56:56

> هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ [56:56]

هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ


That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense!

---

### الآية 56:57

> نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ [56:57]

نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ


We created you, then why do you believe not?

---

### الآية 56:58

> أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تُمْنُونَ [56:58]

أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ


Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit.

---

### الآية 56:59

> أَأَنْتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ [56:59]

ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ


Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator?

### الآية 56:60

> نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ [56:60]

نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ


We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable,

---

### الآية 56:61

> عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنْشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ [56:61]

عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِي مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ


To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not.

---

### الآية 56:62

> وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ [56:62]

وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ


And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed?

---

### الآية 56:63

> أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تَحْرُثُونَ [56:63]

أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَ


Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground.

---

### الآية 56:64

> أَأَنْتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ [56:64]

ءَأَنتُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلزَّـٰرِعُونَ


Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower?

---

### الآية 56:65

> لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ [56:65]

لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ


Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment).

### الآية 56:66

> إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ [56:66]

إِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَ


(Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 17, Page 219]

### الآية 56:67

> بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ [56:67]

بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ


"Nay, but we are deprived!"

---

### الآية 56:68

> أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ [56:68]

أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشۡرَبُونَ


Tell Me! The water that you drink.

---

### الآية 56:69

> أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْزِلُونَ [56:69]

ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ


Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down?

---

### الآية 56:70

> لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ [56:70]

لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ


If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)?

### الآية 56:71

> أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ [56:71]

أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ


Tell Me! The fire which you kindle,

---

### الآية 56:72

> أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْشِئُونَ [56:72]

ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشِـُٔونَ


Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower?

---

### الآية 56:73

> نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِلْمُقْوِينَ [56:73]

نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا لِّلۡمُقۡوِينَ


We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world).

### الآية 56:74

> فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ [56:74]

فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ


Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.

### الآية 56:75

> ۞ فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ [56:75]

۞فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ


So I swear by Mawaqi (setting or the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse).

---

### الآية 56:76

> وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ [56:76]

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ


And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know.

---

### الآية 56:77

> إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ [56:77]

إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ


That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Quran).

---

### الآية 56:78

> فِي كِتَابٍ مَكْنُونٍ [56:78]

فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ


In a Book well-guarded (with Allah in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).

---

### الآية 56:79

> لَا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ [56:79]

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ


Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels).

### الآية 56:80

> تَنْزِيلٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ [56:80]

تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ


A Revelation (this Quran) from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

---

### الآية 56:81

> أَفَبِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنْتُمْ مُدْهِنُونَ [56:81]

أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَ


Is it such a talk (this Quran) that you (disbelievers) deny?

---

### الآية 56:82

> وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ [56:82]

وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ


And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)!

### الآية 56:83

> فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ [56:83]

فَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَ


Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat?

---

### الآية 56:84

> وَأَنْتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنْظُرُونَ [56:84]

وَأَنتُمۡ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَ


And you at the moment are looking on,

---

### الآية 56:85

> وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ [56:85]

وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَ


But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209]

### الآية 56:86

> فَلَوْلَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ [56:86]

فَلَوۡلَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِينَ


Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.)

### الآية 56:87

> تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ [56:87]

تَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ


Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful?

---

### الآية 56:88

> فَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ [56:88]

فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ


Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah),

### الآية 56:89

> فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ [56:89]

فَرَوۡحٞ وَرَيۡحَانٞ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖ


(There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise).

### الآية 56:90

> وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ [56:90]

وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ


And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand,

---

### الآية 56:91

> فَسَلَامٌ لَكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ [56:91]

فَسَلَٰمٞ لَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ


Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand.

### الآية 56:92

> وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ [56:92]

وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ


But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism),

---

### الآية 56:93

> فَنُزُلٌ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ [56:93]

فَنُزُلٞ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖ


Then for him is entertainment with boiling water.

---

### الآية 56:94

> وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ [56:94]

وَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ


And burning in Hell-fire.

---

### الآية 56:95

> إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ [56:95]

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ


Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty.

---

### الآية 56:96

> فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ [56:96]

فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ


So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.
