### الآية 75:1

> لَا أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ [75:1]

1. I swear by the Day of Resurrection.

### الآية 75:2

> وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ [75:2]

2. And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer).

### الآية 75:3

> أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَلَّنْ نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ [75:3]

3. Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones?

### الآية 75:4

> بَلَىٰ قَادِرِينَ عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ [75:4]

4. Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers.\[1\]
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
(V.75:4) Each human being has his or her own special finger prints not resembling anyone else, indicating that our Lord (Allâh) is the Most Superior Creator of everything: Lâ ilâha illâ Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He).

### الآية 75:5

> بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنْسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ [75:5]

5. Nay! Man (denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So he) desires to continue committing sins.

### الآية 75:6

> يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ [75:6]

6. He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?"

### الآية 75:7

> فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ [75:7]

7. So, when the sight shall be dazed.

### الآية 75:8

> وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ [75:8]

8. And the moon will be eclipsed.

### الآية 75:9

> وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ [75:9]

9. And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light).\[2\]

(V.75:9) Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه :The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "The sun and the moon will be folded up (or joined together or deprived of their lights) on the Day of Resurrection." (See the Qur’ân 75:9) (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.4, Hadith No.422).

### الآية 75:10

> يَقُولُ الْإِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ [75:10]

10. On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?"

### الآية 75:11

> كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ [75:11]

11. No! There is no refuge!

### الآية 75:12

> إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ [75:12]

12. Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day.

### الآية 75:13

> يُنَبَّأُ الْإِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ [75:13]

13. On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions).

### الآية 75:14

> بَلِ الْإِنْسَانُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ [75:14]

14. Nay! Man will be a witness against himself \[as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds\],

### الآية 75:15

> وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُ [75:15]

15. Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds).

### الآية 75:16

> لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ [75:16]

16. Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur’ân, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) to make haste therewith.

### الآية 75:17

> إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ [75:17]

17. It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) the ability to recite it (the Qur’ân).

### الآية 75:18

> فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ [75:18]

18. And when We have recited it to you \[O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم through Jibrîl (Gabriel)\], then follow its (the Qur’an’s) recital.

### الآية 75:19

> ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ [75:19]

19. Then it is for Us (Allâh) to make it clear (to you).

### الآية 75:20

> كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ [75:20]

20. Not \[as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds\], but you (men) love the present life of this world,

### الآية 75:21

> وَتَذَرُونَ الْآخِرَةَ [75:21]

21. And neglect the Hereafter.

### الآية 75:22

> وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاضِرَةٌ [75:22]

22. Some faces that Day shall be Nâdirah (shining and radiant).

### الآية 75:23

> إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ [75:23]

23. Looking at their Lord (Allâh).

### الآية 75:24

> وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَاسِرَةٌ [75:24]

24. And some faces, that Day, will be Bâsirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad),

### الآية 75:25

> تَظُنُّ أَنْ يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ [75:25]

25. Thinking that some calamity is about to fall on them.

### الآية 75:26

> كَلَّا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِيَ [75:26]

26. Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit),

### الآية 75:27

> وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ [75:27]

27. And it will be said: "Who can cure him (and save him from death)?"

### الآية 75:28

> وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ [75:28]

28. And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of parting (death);

### الآية 75:29

> وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ [75:29]

29. And one leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded).\[1\]
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
(V.75:29) Or it may mean: hardship and distress will be joined with another hardship and distress (i.e. distress of death, and of the thought as to what is going to happen to him in the Hereafter). (Tafsîr At-Tabarî ).

### الآية 75:30

> إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ [75:30]

30. The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allâh)!

### الآية 75:31

> فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ [75:31]

31. So he (the disbeliever) neither believed (in this Qur’ân and in the Message of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) nor prayed!

### الآية 75:32

> وَلَٰكِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ [75:32]

32. But on the contrary, he belied (this Qur’ân and the Message of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and turned away!

### الآية 75:33

> ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ يَتَمَطَّىٰ [75:33]

33. Then he walked in conceit (full pride) to his family admiring himself!

### الآية 75:34

> أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ [75:34]

34. Woe to you \[O man (disbeliever)\]! And then (again) woe to you!

### الآية 75:35

> ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ [75:35]

35. Again, woe to you \[O man (disbeliever)\]! And then (again) woe to you!

### الآية 75:36

> أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَنْ يُتْرَكَ سُدًى [75:36]

36. Does man think that he will be left neglected (without being punished or rewarded for the obligatory duties enjoined by his Lord Allâh on him)?

### الآية 75:37

> أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِنْ مَنِيٍّ يُمْنَىٰ [75:37]

37. Was he not a Nutfah (mixed male and female sexual discharge) of semen emitted (poured forth)?

### الآية 75:38

> ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ [75:38]

38. Then he became an ‘Alaqah (a clot); then (Allâh) shaped and fashioned (him) in due proportion.\[2\]

### الآية 75:39

> فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنْثَىٰ [75:39]

39. And made of him two sexes, male and female.

### الآية 75:40

> أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَنْ يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَىٰ [75:40]

40. Is not He (Allâh Who does that) Able to give life to the dead? (Yes! He is Able to do all things).
