### الآية 79:1

> وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقًا [79:1]

An-Nazi'at 
-----------

---

وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَٰتِ غَرۡقٗا


By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence;

---

### الآية 79:2

> وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطًا [79:2]

وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَٰتِ نَشۡطٗا


By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers);

---

### الآية 79:3

> وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحًا [79:3]

وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَٰتِ سَبۡحٗا


And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.).

### الآية 79:4

> فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقًا [79:4]

فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَٰتِ سَبۡقٗا


And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.).

---

### الآية 79:5

> فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْرًا [79:5]

فَٱلۡمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمۡرٗا


And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account).

### الآية 79:6

> يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ [79:6]

يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ


On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die),

---

### الآية 79:7

> تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ [79:7]

تَتۡبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ


The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up),

---

### الآية 79:8

> قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ [79:8]

قُلُوبٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاجِفَةٌ


(Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety.

### الآية 79:9

> أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ [79:9]

أَبۡصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٞ


Their eyes cast down.

---

### الآية 79:10

> يَقُولُونَ أَإِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ [79:10]

يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرۡدُودُونَ فِي ٱلۡحَافِرَةِ


They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life?

### الآية 79:11

> أَإِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَخِرَةً [79:11]

أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمٗا نَّخِرَةٗ


"Even after we are crumbled bones?"

---

### الآية 79:12

> قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ [79:12]

قَالُواْ تِلۡكَ إِذٗا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٞ


They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!"

---

### الآية 79:13

> فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ [79:13]

فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجۡرَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ


But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19).

### الآية 79:14

> فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالسَّاهِرَةِ [79:14]

فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ


When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death,

---

### الآية 79:15

> هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ [79:15]

هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ


Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)?

---

### الآية 79:16

> إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى [79:16]

إِذۡ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى


When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,

---

### الآية 79:17

> اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ [79:17]

ٱذۡهَبۡ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ


Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.).

### الآية 79:18

> فَقُلْ هَلْ لَكَ إِلَىٰ أَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ [79:18]

فَقُلۡ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ


And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)",

---

### الآية 79:19

> وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ [79:19]

وَأَهۡدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخۡشَىٰ


And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him?

---

### الآية 79:20

> فَأَرَاهُ الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ [79:20]

فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلۡأٓيَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ


Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles).

---

### الآية 79:21

> فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ [79:21]

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ


But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed;

---

### الآية 79:22

> ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ [79:22]

ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعَىٰ


Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah).

---

### الآية 79:23

> فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ [79:23]

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ


Then he gathered his people and cried aloud,

---

### الآية 79:24

> فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ [79:24]

فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ


Saying: "I am your lord, most high",

---

### الآية 79:25

> فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَىٰ [79:25]

فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ


So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression.

### الآية 79:26

> إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِمَنْ يَخْشَىٰ [79:26]

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبۡرَةٗ لِّمَن يَخۡشَىٰٓ


Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah.

### الآية 79:27

> أَأَنْتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ السَّمَاءُ ۚ بَنَاهَا [79:27]

ءَأَنتُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُۚ بَنَىٰهَا


Are you more difficult to create, or is the heaven that He constructed?

---

### الآية 79:28

> رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا [79:28]

رَفَعَ سَمۡكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا


He raised its height, and He has equally ordered it,

---

### الآية 79:29

> وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا [79:29]

وَأَغۡطَشَ لَيۡلَهَا وَأَخۡرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا


Its night He covers with darkness, and its forenoon He brings out (with light).

### الآية 79:30

> وَالْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَاهَا [79:30]

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ


And after that He spread the earth;

---

### الآية 79:31

> أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرْعَاهَا [79:31]

أَخۡرَجَ مِنۡهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرۡعَىٰهَا


And brought forth therefrom its water and its pasture;

---

### الآية 79:32

> وَالْجِبَالَ أَرْسَاهَا [79:32]

وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَرۡسَىٰهَا


And the mountains He has fixed firmly;

---

### الآية 79:33

> مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ [79:33]

مَتَٰعٗا لَّكُمۡ وَلِأَنۡعَٰمِكُمۡ


(To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle.

---

### الآية 79:34

> فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَىٰ [79:34]

فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ


But when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the Day of Recompense, etc.),

---

### الآية 79:35

> يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا سَعَىٰ [79:35]

يَوۡمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ


The Day when man shall remember what he strove for,

---

### الآية 79:36

> وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَنْ يَرَىٰ [79:36]

وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ


And Hell-fire shall be made apparent in full view for (every) one who sees,

---

### الآية 79:37

> فَأَمَّا مَنْ طَغَىٰ [79:37]

فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ


Then, for him who Tagha (transgressed all bounds, in disbelief, oppression and evil deeds of disobedience to Allah).

---

### الآية 79:38

> وَآثَرَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا [79:38]

وَءَاثَرَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا


And preferred the life of this world (by following his evil desires and lusts),

---

### الآية 79:39

> فَإِنَّ الْجَحِيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ [79:39]

فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ


Verily, his abode will be Hell-fire;

---

### الآية 79:40

> وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ [79:40]

وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفۡسَ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰ


But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires, and lusts.

### الآية 79:41

> فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ [79:41]

فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ


Verily, Paradise will be his abode.

---

### الآية 79:42

> يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا [79:42]

يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرۡسَىٰهَا


They ask you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) about the Hour, - when will be its appointed time?

---

### الآية 79:43

> فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا [79:43]

فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكۡرَىٰهَآ


You have no knowledge to say anything about it,

---

### الآية 79:44

> إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا [79:44]

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ


To your Lord belongs (the knowledge of) the term thereof?

---

### الآية 79:45

> إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرُ مَنْ يَخْشَاهَا [79:45]

إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰهَا


You (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) are only a warner for those who fear it,

---

### الآية 79:46

> كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا [79:46]

كَأَنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَهَا لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوٓاْ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوۡ ضُحَىٰهَا


The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning.
