### الآية 82:1

> إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْفَطَرَتْ [82:1]

In the Name of God, the Lord of Grace, the Ever-Merciful! When the sky is cleft asunder,

### الآية 82:2

> وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ [82:2]

When the planets are scattered,

### الآية 82:3

> وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ [82:3]

When the oceans are made to explode,

### الآية 82:4

> وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ [82:4]

When the graves are hurled about,

### الآية 82:5

> عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ [82:5]

every soul shall know its earlier actions and its later ones.

### الآية 82:6

> يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ [82:6]

O man, what has lured you away from your gracious Lord,

### الآية 82:7

> الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ [82:7]

Who created and moulded you and gave you upright form?

### الآية 82:8

> فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ [82:8]

He can give you whatever shape He wills.

### الآية 82:9

> كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ [82:9]

Shun it! But you deny the Last Judgement.

### الآية 82:10

> وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ [82:10]

Yet there are guardians watching over you,

### الآية 82:11

> كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ [82:11]

noble recorders,

### الآية 82:12

> يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ [82:12]

who know all that you do.

### الآية 82:13

> إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ [82:13]

Surely the righteous shall be in bliss,

### الآية 82:14

> وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ [82:14]

while the wicked shall be in a blazing fire,

### الآية 82:15

> يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ [82:15]

which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement;

### الآية 82:16

> وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ [82:16]

nor shall they ever be absent from it.

### الآية 82:17

> وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ [82:17]

Would that you knew what the Day of Judgement is!

### الآية 82:18

> ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ [82:18]

Oh, would that you knew what the Day of Judgement is!

### الآية 82:19

> يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ [82:19]

It is the Day when no soul can be of any help to any other soul; for on that Day all sovereignty is God’s alone.
