### الآية 87:1

> سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى [87:1]

In the Name of God, the Lord of Grace, the Ever-Merciful. Extol the limitless glory of the name of your Lord, the Most High,

### الآية 87:2

> الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ [87:2]

who creates and proportions well,

### الآية 87:3

> وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ [87:3]

who determines and guides,

### الآية 87:4

> وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ [87:4]

who brings forth the pasturage,

### الآية 87:5

> فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ [87:5]

then turns it to withered grass.

### الآية 87:6

> سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسَىٰ [87:6]

We shall teach you and you shall not forget

### الآية 87:7

> إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ [87:7]

except what God wills. He knows what is manifest and what is kept hidden.

### الآية 87:8

> وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ [87:8]

And We shall smooth your way to perfect ease.

### الآية 87:9

> فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ [87:9]

Give warning, therefore, \[regardless of\] whether such warning is of use.

### الآية 87:10

> سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَىٰ [87:10]

He who fears God will heed it,

### الآية 87:11

> وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى [87:11]

but the most hapless wretch will turn aside from it,

### الآية 87:12

> الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ [87:12]

who shall be cast into the great Fire,

### الآية 87:13

> ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ [87:13]

in which he shall neither die nor remain alive.

### الآية 87:14

> قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ [87:14]

Successful will be he who purifies himself,

### الآية 87:15

> وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ [87:15]

and glorifies the name of his Lord and prays.

### الآية 87:16

> بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا [87:16]

Yet you prefer this present life,

### الآية 87:17

> وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ [87:17]

while the life to come is better and longer lasting.

### الآية 87:18

> إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ [87:18]

All this has indeed been stated in earlier revelations;

### الآية 87:19

> صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ [87:19]

The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
