### الآية 88:1

> هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ [88:1]

Have you heard the story of the Enveloper?

### الآية 88:2

> وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ [88:2]

Some faces on that Day are downcast,

### الآية 88:3

> عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ [88:3]

labour weary, worn out,

### الآية 88:4

> تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً [88:4]

about to enter a scorching fire,

### الآية 88:5

> تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ [88:5]

made to drink from a boiling fountain.

### الآية 88:6

> لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ [88:6]

Their only food shall be nothing but dry thorns,

### الآية 88:7

> لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ [88:7]

which will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger.

### الآية 88:8

> وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ [88:8]

Other faces on that Day are jocund,

### الآية 88:9

> لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ [88:9]

well-pleased with their striving,

### الآية 88:10

> فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ [88:10]

in a sublime garden,

### الآية 88:11

> لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً [88:11]

where they hear no babble.

### الآية 88:12

> فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ [88:12]

A running fountain shall be there,

### الآية 88:13

> فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ [88:13]

and raised couches,

### الآية 88:14

> وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ [88:14]

and goblets placed ready,

### الآية 88:15

> وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ [88:15]

and cushions laid in order,

### الآية 88:16

> وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ [88:16]

and carpets spread out.

### الآية 88:17

> أَفَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ [88:17]

Let them reflect on the camels, how were they created;

### الآية 88:18

> وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ [88:18]

and heaven, how it is raised aloft;

### الآية 88:19

> وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ [88:19]

and the mountains, how they are hoisted;

### الآية 88:20

> وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ [88:20]

and the earth, how it is spread out.

### الآية 88:21

> فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ [88:21]

Therefore exhort them; your task is only to exhort.

### الآية 88:22

> لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَيْطِرٍ [88:22]

You are not their overseer.

### الآية 88:23

> إِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ [88:23]

But he who turns his back and disbelieves,

### الآية 88:24

> فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ [88:24]

God shall inflict on him the greatest suffering.

### الآية 88:25

> إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ [88:25]

To Us they shall surely return,

### الآية 88:26

> ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ [88:26]

when We shall bring them to account.
