### الآية 92:1

> وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ [92:1]

Al-Lail 
--------

---

وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَغۡشَىٰ


(92:1) By the night when it enshrouds, 

---

### الآية 92:2

> وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ [92:2]

وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ


(92:2) and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 

---

### الآية 92:3

> وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنْثَىٰ [92:3]

وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰٓ


(92:3) and by Him Who created the male and the female: 

---

### الآية 92:4

> إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ [92:4]

إِنَّ سَعۡيَكُمۡ لَشَتَّىٰ


(92:4) surely your strivings are divergent.1

### الآية 92:5

> فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ [92:5]

فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أَعۡطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ


(92:5) As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained 
 (from disobeying Him),

### الآية 92:6

> وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ [92:6]

وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ


(92:6) and affirmed the Truth of goodness:2

---

### الآية 92:7

> فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ [92:7]

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ


(92:7) We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss.3

---

### الآية 92:8

> وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ [92:8]

وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ


(92:8) As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah),

### الآية 92:9

> وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ [92:9]

وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ


(92:9) and denied the Truth of goodness:4

### الآية 92:10

> فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ [92:10]

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلۡعُسۡرَىٰ


(92:10) We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship,5

---

### الآية 92:11

> وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ [92:11]

وَمَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ


(92:11) and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes.6

### الآية 92:12

> إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ [92:12]

إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا لَلۡهُدَىٰ


(92:12) Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way,7

---

### الآية 92:13

> وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَىٰ [92:13]

وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلۡأٓخِرَةَ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ


(92:13) and to Us belong the Next Life and the present.8

### الآية 92:14

> فَأَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ [92:14]

فَأَنذَرۡتُكُمۡ نَارٗا تَلَظَّىٰ


(92:14) I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 

---

### الآية 92:15

> لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى [92:15]

لَا يَصۡلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى


(92:15) where none shall burn except the most wicked, 

---

### الآية 92:16

> الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ [92:16]

ٱلَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ


(92:16) who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back 
 on it. 

---

### الآية 92:17

> وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى [92:17]

وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَتۡقَى


(92:17) But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 

---

### الآية 92:18

> الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ [92:18]

ٱلَّذِي يُؤۡتِي مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ


(92:18) the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself;9

---

### الآية 92:19

> وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ [92:19]

وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعۡمَةٖ تُجۡزَىٰٓ


(92:19) not as payment for any favours that he received, 

---

### الآية 92:20

> إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ [92:20]

إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ


(92:20) but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High.0

### الآية 92:21

> وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ [92:21]

وَلَسَوۡفَ يَرۡضَىٰ


(92:21) He will surely be well-pleased (with him).1
