### الآية 92:1

> وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ [92:1]

(1) By the night when it covers\[1937\] 
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1937\]- With darkness.

### الآية 92:2

> وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ [92:2]

(2) And \[by\] the day when it appears

### الآية 92:3

> وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنْثَىٰ [92:3]

(3) And \[by\] He who created the male and female,

### الآية 92:4

> إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ [92:4]

(4) Indeed, your efforts are diverse.

### الآية 92:5

> فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ [92:5]

(5) As for he who gives and fears Allāh

### الآية 92:6

> وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ [92:6]

(6) And believes in the best \[reward\],

### الآية 92:7

> فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ [92:7]

(7) We will ease him toward ease.

### الآية 92:8

> وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ [92:8]

(8) But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need

### الآية 92:9

> وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ [92:9]

(9) And denies the best \[reward\],

### الآية 92:10

> فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ [92:10]

(10) We will ease him toward difficulty.

### الآية 92:11

> وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ [92:11]

(11) And what will his wealth avail him when he falls?\[1938\] 
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1938\]- i.e., when he dies or is destroyed. It can also mean when he falls into the Hellfire.

### الآية 92:12

> إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ [92:12]

(12) Indeed, \[incumbent\] upon Us is guidance.

### الآية 92:13

> وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَىٰ [92:13]

(13) And indeed, to us belongs the Hereafter and the first \[life\].

### الآية 92:14

> فَأَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ [92:14]

(14) So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing.

### الآية 92:15

> لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى [92:15]

(15) None will \[enter to\] burn therein except the most wretched one

### الآية 92:16

> الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ [92:16]

(16) Who had denied and turned away.

### الآية 92:17

> وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى [92:17]

(17) But the righteous one will avoid it

### الآية 92:18

> الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ [92:18]

(18) \[He\] who gives \[from\] his wealth to purify himself

### الآية 92:19

> وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ [92:19]

(19) And not \[giving\] for anyone who has \[done him\] a favor to be rewarded\[1939\] 
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
\[1939\]- i.e., without intending reciprocation for some benefit to himself.

### الآية 92:20

> إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ [92:20]

(20) But only seeking the face \[i.e., acceptance\] of his Lord, Most High.

### الآية 92:21

> وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ [92:21]

(21) And he is going to be satisfied.
