(28) And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allāh has with Him a great reward.

 28. And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial and that surely with Allâh is a mighty reward.

وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَآ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَأَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ فِتۡنَةٞ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجۡرٌ عَظِيمٞ

And know that your riches and your children are only a temptation and that in the Providence of Allah is a magnificent reward.

28. Be aware O believers that your wealth and children are a test for you, and your conduct with them may prevent you from performing good actions for your Afterlife, or lead to betraying your trusts. Know that with Allah is a great reward, so be careful not to lose this reward because of becoming engrossed with them, and you cheating the people because of them.
