[671]- i.e., with a message or, as the conclusion of the verse suggests, to carry out a promised punishment.
8. We send not the angels down except with the truth (i.e. for torment), and in that case, they (the disbelievers) would have no respite!— الترجمة الإنجليزية
— Dr. Ghali - English translationمَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓاْ إِذٗا مُّنظَرِينَIn no way do We send down the Angels except with the Truth; and lo, in no way would they (The disbelievers) be respited.

8. In response to their idea of having the angels brought forth, Allah said: I will not send the angels except when it becomes wise to do so, that is, when your time comes to be penalised.
