(15) Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against it [i.e., the self or soul]. Then to your Lord you will be returned.

 15. Whosoever does a good deed, it is for his ownself, and whosoever does evil, it is against (his ownself). Then to your Lord you will be made to return.

Whoever does righteousness, then it is for his self; and whoever does odious (deeds), then it is against it; (i.e., the self) thereafter to your Lord you will be returned.

15. Whoever does good actions, the result of his good action is for him, And Allah is in no need of his actions. And whoever does bad, the result of his bad action is that he will be punished for it; Allah is not harmed by his bad. Then to Me alone you will be returned so I can reward everyone with what they deserve.
