(17) And We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.— الترجمة الإنجليزية - صحيح انترناشونال
17. And gave them clear proofs in matters [by revealing to them the Taurât (Torah)]. And they differed not until after the knowledge came to them, through envy among themselves. Verily, Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they used to differ.— الترجمة الإنجليزية
— Dr. Ghali - English translationوَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم بَيِّنَٰتٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِۖ فَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُوٓاْ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡعِلۡمُ بَغۡيَۢا بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقۡضِي بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَAnd We brought them supreme evidence (s) of the Command; so in no way did they differ among themselves except even after the knowledge had come to them, (they) being inequitable among themselves. Surely your Lord will decree between them on the Day of the Resurrection concerning that wherein they used to differ.

Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment as to those matters in which they set up differences.

— Abul Ala Maududi(With tafsir) - English translationوَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم بَيِّنَٰتٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِۖ فَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُوٓاْ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡعِلۡمُ بَغۡيَۢا بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقۡضِي بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ(45:17) We gave them clear directions in matters pertaining to religion.
Yet they differed among themselves (not out of ignorance but) after knowledge
had come to them; and they did so out of the desire to commit excesses against
one another.2 On the Day of Resurrection Allah will judge among
them regarding what they had differed.

So they did not fall into disagreement out of mutual jealousy, but after the knowledge had come to them. Surely your Lord will judge between them, on the Day of Judgment, in the matters in which they used to differ.

17. And I gave them proof which clarify truth from falsehood. But they did not differ except after the proof were established against them by sending My Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). And nothing lead them to this difference except some of them oppressing others, out of greed for leadership and fame. We granted them clear indications in matters of faith. It was only after knowledge had been granted them that they began to differ maliciously among themselves.
