12. Then We raised them up (from their sleep), that We might test which of the two parties was best at calculating the time period that they had tarried.— الترجمة الإنجليزية
— Dr. Ghali - English translationثُمَّ بَعَثۡنَٰهُمۡ لِنَعۡلَمَ أَيُّ ٱلۡحِزۡبَيۡنِ أَحۡصَىٰ لِمَا لَبِثُوٓاْ أَمَدٗاThereafter We made them to rise again that We might know whichever of the two parties would best enumerate the span they had lingered.

could best tell the length of their stay.
