(48) And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"

 48. And they say: "When will this promise (i.e. Resurrection) be fulfilled, if you are truthful?"

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ

And they say, "When will this promise be, in case you are sincere?"

And they say: "When will this promise (i.e. Resurrection) be fulfilled, if you are truthful?"

Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?"

(36:48) They4 say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come
to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.”5

48. The disbelievers who deny the resurrection say in denial of it and regarding it as far-fetched: When is this resurrection if you, O believers, are true in your claim that it is to occur?
