34. And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): then if you die, would they live forever?— الترجمة الإنجليزية
— Dr. Ghali - English translationوَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِيْن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِدُونَAnd in no way did We make eternity to (Or: for) any mortal even before you. So, in case you die, are they then the eternal ones?
— Muhsin Khan - English translationوَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِيْن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِدُونَAnd We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muhammad SAW), then if you die, would they live forever?
— Pickthall - English translationوَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِيْن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِدُونَWe appointed immortality for no mortal before thee. What! if thou diest, can they be immortal!
— Yusuf Ali - English translationوَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِيْن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِدُونَWe granted not to any man before thee permanent life (here): if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently?
— Sahih International - English translationوَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِيْن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِدُونَAnd We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal?
— Abul Ala Maududi(With tafsir) - English translationوَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِيْن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِدُونَ(21:34) (O Muhammad),6 We did not grant everlasting life to any
human being even before you. If you were to die, will they live for ever?
