(99) Had these [false deities] been [actual] gods, they would not have come to it, but all are eternal therein.

 99. Had these (idols) been âlihah (gods), they would not have entered there (Hell), and all of them will abide therein.

لَوۡ كَانَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ءَالِهَةٗ مَّا وَرَدُوهَاۖ وَكُلّٞ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

If these had been gods, in no way would they have herded themselves down to it; and all of them are therein eternally (abiding).

لَوۡ كَانَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ءَالِهَةٗ مَّا وَرَدُوهَاۖ وَكُلّٞ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

99. If these worshipped things were in reality gods that were worthy of being worshipped, they would not be entering the hellfire with their worshippers. Yet they shall all be entering it, having to remain in it forever, never to come out of it.
