(74) And if We had not strengthened you, you would have almost inclined to them a little.

 74. And had We not made you stand firm, you would nearly have inclined to them a little.

وَلَوۡلَآ أَن ثَبَّتۡنَٰكَ لَقَدۡ كِدتَّ تَرۡكَنُ إِلَيۡهِمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا قَلِيلًا

And if we had not made you stand firm, indeed you were already almost about to (seek) support from them a (very) little.

74. However, I protected you from inclining towards them.
