(40) So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings[1758] that indeed We are able— الترجمة الإنجليزية - صحيح انترناشونال
[1758]- i.e., Allāh (subḥānahu wa taʿālā), who determines the point at which the sun, moon and stars rise and set according to season and every position of observation.
40. So I swear by the Lord of all the [three hundred and sixty-five (365)] points of sunrise and sunset in the east and the west that surely We are Able— الترجمة الإنجليزية
— Dr. Ghali - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَYet no, I swear by The Lord of the easts and the wests; surely We are indeed (the) Determiners.
— Muhsin Khan - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَSo I swear by the Lord of all [the three hundred and sixty (360)] points of sunrise and sunset in the east and the west that surely We are Able
— Pickthall - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَBut nay! I swear by the Lord of the rising-places and the setting-places of the planets that We verily are Able
— Yusuf Ali - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَNow I do call to witness the Lord of all points in the East and the West that We can certainly-
— Sahih International - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَSo I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able
— Abul Ala Maududi(With tafsir) - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَ(70:40) I swear7 by the Lord of the easts and the wests8
that We have the power
— Abdul Haleem - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَand, by the Lord of every sunrise and sunset, We have the power
— Mufti Taqi Usmani - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَSo, I swear by the Lord of the points of sunrise and those of sunset, We are powerful
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَSo, I do swear by the Lord of ˹all˺ the points of sunrise and sunset that We are truly capable
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab - English translationفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَSo, I do swear by the Lord of ˹all˺ the points of sunrise and sunset1 that We are truly capable
