(24) And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others].

 24. Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old,

فَقَالَ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ يُؤۡثَرُ

So he said, "Decidedly this is nothing except sorcery, transmitted relics.

Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old;

(74:24) and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore;

24. He said: This what Muhammad brought is not Allah’s speech, but it is sorcery that he relates from others.
