2. Nay, they wonder that there has come to them a warner (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) from among themselves. So the disbelievers say: "This is a strange thing!— الترجمة الإنجليزية
— Dr. Ghali - English translationبَلۡ عَجِبُوٓاْ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَقَالَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيۡءٌ عَجِيبٌNo indeed, (but) they wonder that a warner has come to them from among them; then, the disbelievers say, "This is a wondrous thing!
— Muhsin Khan - English translationبَلۡ عَجِبُوٓاْ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَقَالَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيۡءٌ عَجِيبٌNay, they wonder that there has come to them a warner (Muhammad SAW) from among themselves. So the disbelievers say: "This is a strange thing!
— Pickthall - English translationبَلۡ عَجِبُوٓاْ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَقَالَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيۡءٌ عَجِيبٌNay, but they marvel that a warner of their own hath come unto them; and the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing:
— Yusuf Ali - English translationبَلۡ عَجِبُوٓاْ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَقَالَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيۡءٌ عَجِيبٌBut they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing!
— Sahih International - English translationبَلۡ عَجِبُوٓاْ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَقَالَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيۡءٌ عَجِيبٌBut they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, "This is an amazing thing.
— Abul Ala Maududi(With tafsir) - English translationبَلۡ عَجِبُوٓاْ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَقَالَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيۡءٌ عَجِيبٌ(50:2) Nay; they wondered that a warner should have come to them from among
themselves.2 The unbelievers said: “This indeed is a strange thing.

So the disbelievers say, “This is an astonishing thing!

So the disbelievers say, “This is an astonishing thing!

2. The cause of their rejection was not that they expected you to lie, because they know your honesty. Rather, they are amazed that a warning messenger came to them from their own species, not from the angels.
