(8) Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.— الترجمة الإنجليزية - صحيح انترناشونال
8. Verily We have put on their necks iron collars reaching to the chins, so that their heads are raised up.— الترجمة الإنجليزية
— Dr. Ghali - English translationإِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَSurely We have made on their necks shackles, so they are up to the chins, so they are stiff-necked.
— Muhsin Khan - English translationإِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَVerily! We have put on their necks iron collars reaching to chins, so that their heads are forced up.
— Pickthall - English translationإِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَLo! We have put on their necks carcans reaching unto the chins, so that they are made stiff-necked.
— Yusuf Ali - English translationإِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَWe have put yokes round their necks right up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up (and they cannot see).
— Sahih International - English translationإِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَIndeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.
— Abul Ala Maududi(With tafsir) - English translationإِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَ(36:8) We have put fetters around their necks which reach up to their chins
so that they are standing with their heads upright,6
— Abdul Haleem - English translationإِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَ[It is as if] We had placed [iron] collars around their necks, right up to their chins so that their heads are forced up
— Mufti Taqi Usmani - English translationإِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَWe have placed iron collars on their necks, so they are reaching up to their chins, and their heads are forced to remain upwards.

8. These people do not have faith nor are they guided. Their example in this is like those in whose necks iron collars that extend all the way up and whose hands are tied to their necks under their chins. As a result, they are forced to lift their heads to the sky and they are unable to lower them.
