— Dr. Ghali - English translationقَالُواْ يَـٰٓأَبَانَا مَا لَكَ لَا تَأۡمَ۬نَّا عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَنَٰصِحُونَThey said, "O our father, how is it with you, that you do not keep Yusuf (Joseph) in our custody? And surely we are indeed his (honest) advisers.
— Muhsin Khan - English translationقَالُواْ يَـٰٓأَبَانَا مَا لَكَ لَا تَأۡمَ۬نَّا عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَنَٰصِحُونَThey said: "O our father! Why do you not trust us with Yusuf (Joseph), - when we are indeed his well-wishers?"

— Sahih International - English translationقَالُواْ يَـٰٓأَبَانَا مَا لَكَ لَا تَأۡمَ۬نَّا عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَنَٰصِحُونَThey said, "O our father, why do you not entrust us with Joseph while indeed, we are to him sincere counselors?
— Abul Ala Maududi(With tafsir) - English translationقَالُواْ يَـٰٓأَبَانَا مَا لَكَ لَا تَأۡمَ۬نَّا عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَنَٰصِحُونَ(12:11) After so deciding they said to their father: "Why is it that you
do not trust us regarding Joseph although we are his true well-wishers?"

11. When they agreed to get rid of him, they said to their father, Jacob: O our father, why do not you trust us with Joseph? We have compassion for him and we will take care of him against anything that might harm him. We want good for him, so we will protect and look after him until he comes back to you safely.
