(2) And you, [O Muḥammad], are free of restriction in this city— الترجمة الإنجليزية - صحيح انترناشونال
2. And you are free (from sin, and to punish the enemies of Islâm on the Day of the conquest) in this city (Makkah).[1]— الترجمة الإنجليزية
(V.90:2)
a) Narrated Ibn ‘Abbâs رضي الله عنهما: On the day of the conquest of Makkah, Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Allâh has made this town a sanctuary. Its thorny bushes should not be cut, its game should not be chased, and its fallen things should not be picked up except by one who would announce them publicly." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.2, Hadith No. 657)

— Dr. Ghali - English translationوَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِAnd you (i.e., the Prophet) are an inhabitant of this country.
— Muhsin Khan - English translationوَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِAnd you are free (from sin, to punish the enemies of Islam on the Day of the conquest) in this city (Makkah).
— Pickthall - English translationوَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِAnd thou art an indweller of this city -
— Yusuf Ali - English translationوَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِAnd thou art a freeman of this City;-
— Sahih International - English translationوَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِAnd you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city -
— Abul Ala Maududi(With tafsir) - English translationوَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِ(90:2) – this city wherein you have been rendered violable–3
— Abdul Haleem - English translationوَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِand you [Prophet] are an inhabitant of this city––
— Mufti Taqi Usmani - English translationوَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِ-and (O Prophet,) you are going to be allowed (to fight) in this city-
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran - English translationوَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِeven though you ˹O Prophet˺ are subject to abuse in this city—

2. O Messenger! It is permissible for you to do whatever you wish on the Day of the Conquest of Makkah, from capital punishment to those whom are deserving of it, to taking captive whomsoever deserves it.— الترجمة الإنجليزية للمختصر في تفسير القرآن الكريم
