(80) Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating.— الترجمة الإنجليزية - صحيح انترناشونال
80. Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear nor can you make the deaf to hear the call (i.e. benefit them and similarly the disbelievers), when they flee, turning their backs.— الترجمة الإنجليزية
— Dr. Ghali - English translationإِنَّكَ لَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَلَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا وَلَّوۡاْ مُدۡبِرِينَSurely you will not make the dead to hear, nor will you make the deaf to hear the call when they turn away, withdrawing.
— Muhsin Khan - English translationإِنَّكَ لَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَلَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا وَلَّوۡاْ مُدۡبِرِينَVerily, you cannot make the dead to hear (i.e. benefit them and similarly the disbelievers), nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they flee, turning their backs.
