Verse 1
ﭜﭝ
ﭞ
By the sun and his morning brightness,
Verse 2
ﭟﭠﭡ
ﭢ
by the moon as she follows him,
Verse 3
ﭣﭤﭥ
ﭦ
by the day, which reveals his splendour,
Verse 4
ﭧﭨﭩ
ﭪ
by the night, which veils him.
Verse 5
ﭫﭬﭭ
ﭮ
By the heaven and its construction,
Verse 6
ﭯﭰﭱ
ﭲ
by the earth and its spreading,
Verse 7
ﭳﭴﭵ
ﭶ
by the soul and its moulding
Verse 8
ﭷﭸﭹ
ﭺ
and inspiration with knowledge of wickedness and righteousness.
Verse 9
ﭻﭼﭽﭾ
ﭿ
Successful is the one who keeps it pure,
Verse 10
ﮀﮁﮂﮃ
ﮄ
and ruined is the one who corrupts it.
Verse 11
ﮅﮆﮇ
ﮈ
In their overweening arrogance the people of Thamud denied the truth,
Verse 12
ﮉﮊﮋ
ﮌ
when their most hapless wretch broke forth.
Verse 13
God’s messenger said to them: ‘It is a she-camel belonging to God, so let her have her drink’.
Verse 14
But they rejected him, and cruelly slaughtered her. For this their sin their Lord let loose His scourge upon them, and razed their city to the ground.
Verse 15

He does not fear what may follow.
