Ṭā. Sīn. Mīm.
Verse 2
ﭓﭔﭕﭖ
ﭗ
These are verses of the Book that makes things clear.
Verse 3
ﭘﭙﭚﭛﭜﭝ
ﭞ
Would you, perhaps, torment yourself to death [with grief] because they would not believe?
Verse 4
If We will, We can send down to them from the skies a sign before which their necks will remain bent in submission.
Verse 5
Yet whenever any fresh reminder comes to them from the Lord of Grace, they always turn their backs on it.
Verse 6
They have indeed denied [the truth of revelation]; and they will in time come to understand what it was they were wont to deride.
Verse 7
Do they not see the earth, how much of every noble kind We have caused to grow on it.
Verse 8
Indeed, there is in this a sure sign; yet most of them will not believe.
Verse 9
ﮖﮗﮘﮙﮚ
ﮛ
And indeed it is your Lord who is the Mighty One, the Ever-Merciful.
Verse 10
Your Lord called Moses: ‘Go to the wrongdoing people,
Verse 11
ﮥﮦﮧﮨﮩ
ﮪ
the people of Pharaoh. Will they have no fear of God?’
Verse 12
ﮫﮬﮭﮮﮯﮰ
ﮱ
He said: ‘My Lord, I fear that they will charge me with falsehood,
Verse 13
and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be fluent. So send as well for Aaron.
Verse 14
ﯜﯝﯞﯟﯠﯡ
ﯢ
Moreover, they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear that they will kill me’.
Verse 15
Said He: ‘By no means! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our signs; We are with you, listening to all.
Verse 16
Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: “We are messengers from the Lord of all the worlds:
Verse 17
ﯵﯶﯷﯸﯹ
ﯺ
Let the Children of Israel go with us”.’
Verse 18
[Pharaoh] said [to Moses]: ‘Did we not bring you up when you were an infant? And did you not stay with us many years of your life?
Verse 19
Yet you have done that deed of yours while being an unbeliever’.
Verse 20
ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕﭖ
ﭗ
Replied [Moses]: ‘I committed it while I was still going astray;
Verse 21
and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me sound judgement and made me one of [His] messengers.
Verse 22
And what sort of favour is this you are taunting me with: was it not because you had enslaved the Children of Israel?’
Verse 23
ﭭﭮﭯﭰﭱ
ﭲ
Pharaoh said: ‘And what is that ‘Lord of all the worlds?’
Verse 24
[Moses] answered: ‘He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be sure’.
Verse 25
ﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂ
ﮃ
[Pharaoh] said to those around him: ‘Do you hear?’
Verse 26
ﮄﮅﮆﮇﮈ
ﮉ
[Moses] said: ‘He is your Lord as well as the Lord of your forefathers of old’.
Verse 27
[Pharaoh] said: ‘For certain, the messenger who has been sent to you is indeed a madman’.
Verse 28
[Moses] went on: ‘He is indeed the Lord of the east and the west and of all that is between them, if you would but use your reason’.
Verse 29
[Pharaoh] said: ‘If you ever serve a god other than me, I will most certainly have you imprisoned’.
Verse 30
ﮦﮧﮨﮩﮪ
ﮫ
Said [Moses]: ‘Even if I bring before you a clear proof?’
Verse 31
[Pharaoh] said: ‘Produce it, then, if you are a man of truth’.
Verse 32
ﯕﯖﯗﯘﯙﯚ
ﯛ
So he threw down his staff and behold, it was a serpent, plain for all to see.
Verse 33
ﯜﯝﯞﯟﯠﯡ
ﯢ
And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to the onlookers.
Verse 34
[Pharaoh] said to the noble ones around him: ‘This is indeed a sorcerer of great knowledge
Verse 35
who wants to drive you out of your land by his sorcery. What, then, do you advise?’
Verse 36
They said: ‘Let him and his brother wait a while, and send heralds to all cities
Verse 37
ﯼﯽﯾﯿ
ﰀ
to bring before you every sorcerer of great skill’.
Verse 38
ﰁﰂﰃﰄﰅ
ﰆ
So the sorcerers were assembled at a set time on an appointed day,
Verse 39
ﰇﰈﰉﰊﰋ
ﰌ
and the people were asked: ‘Will you all be present’,
Verse 40
so that we may follow the sorcerers if they emerge triumphant?’
Verse 41
When the sorcerers arrived they said to Pharaoh: ‘Will there be a [handsome] reward for us if we are the ones to prevail?’
Verse 42
ﭦﭧﭨﭩﭪﭫ
ﭬ
Said he: ‘Yes, indeed! And in that case you will be among those who are close to me’.
Verse 43
Moses said to them: ‘Throw whatever you are going to throw!’
Verse 44
So they threw their ropes and staffs, and said: ‘By Pharaoh’s might, it is we indeed who will prevail’.
Verse 45
Then Moses threw his staff, and it swallowed up their false devices.
Verse 46
ﮈﮉﮊ
ﮋ
The sorcerers fell down prostrating themselves,
Verse 47
ﮌﮍﮎﮏ
ﮐ
and said: ‘We believe in the Lord of all the worlds,
Verse 48
ﮑﮒﮓ
ﮔ
the Lord of Moses and Aaron’.
Verse 49
[Pharaoh] said: ‘You believe in Him even before I have given you permission! Surely, this one must be your master who has taught you witchcraft! But in time you shall come to know. I shall most certainly have your hands and feet cut off on alternate sides, and I shall most certainly crucify you all’.
Verse 50
They said: ‘No harm [can you cause us]. To our Lord we shall indeed return.
Verse 51
We certainly hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, since we are the first who have believed’.
Verse 52
Then We revealed to Moses: ‘Set forth with My servants by night, for you will be pursued’.
Verse 53
ﯭﯮﯯﯰﯱ
ﯲ
Pharaoh sent heralds to all cities,
Verse 54
ﯳﯴﯵﯶ
ﯷ
[saying]: ‘These are but a small band,
Verse 55
ﯸﯹﯺ
ﯻ
and most certainly they have enraged us;
Verse 56
ﯼﯽﯾ
ﯿ
but we are all united, and well prepared’.
Verse 57
ﰀﰁﰂﰃ
ﰄ
Thus We drove them out of their gardens, springs,
Verse 58
ﰅﰆﰇ
ﰈ
treasures and honourable positions.
Verse 59
ﰉﰊﰋﰌﰍ
ﰎ
And We bequeathed it all to the Children of Israel.
Verse 60
ﰏﰐ
ﰑ
And so they [Pharaoh’s army] pursued them at sunrise.
Verse 61
When the two hosts came in sight of each other, the followers of Moses said: ‘We shall certainly be overtaken’.
Verse 62
He replied: ‘No indeed! My Lord is with me and He will guide me’.
Verse 63
And We revealed to Moses: ‘Strike the sea with your staff’. So it divided, and each part was like a massive mountain.
Verse 64
ﭱﭲﭳ
ﭴ
And We caused the others to draw near,
Verse 65
ﭵﭶﭷﭸﭹ
ﭺ
and We saved Moses and all who were with him,
Verse 66
ﭻﭼﭽ
ﭾ
while We caused the others to drown.
Verse 67
Indeed, there is in this a sure sign; yet most of them will not believe.
Verse 68

ﮎ
And indeed it is your Lord who is the Mighty One, the Ever-Merciful.
Verse 69

Verse 71

They answered: ‘We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them’.
Verse 72

Verse 74

They said: ‘But we found our forefathers doing the same’.
Verse 75
ﯕﯖﯗﯘﯙ
ﯚ
He said: ‘Do you see those which you have been worshipping –
Verse 76

you and your forefathers of old?
Verse 77
ﯟﯠﯡﯢﯣﯤ

They are my enemies, except for the Lord of all the worlds.
Verse 78

He is the One who gives me to eat and to drink.
Verse 80

When I fall ill, He is the One who restores me to health,
Verse 81
ﯵﯶﯷﯸ

Verse 82
It is He also who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the Day of Judgement’.
Verse 83
ﰃﰄﰅﰆﰇﰈ
ﰉ
‘My Lord! Grant me sound judgement, and join me with the righteous;

Verse 86

Forgive my father; for he is among the ones who have gone astray.
Verse 87
ﭥﭦﭧﭨ

Let me not suffer disgrace on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead;
Verse 88

the Day when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit;
Verse 89
ﭱﭲﭳﭴﭵﭶ

but only the one who comes to God with a sound heart [will be happy].’
Verse 90
ﭸﭹﭺ

Paradise will be brought within sight of the God-fearing;
Verse 91

whereas the blazing Fire will be placed in full view of the ones lost in error.
Verse 92
ﮀﮁﮂﮃﮄﮅ

It shall be said to them: ‘Where is now all that you used to worship

And there, quarrelling with one another, they will say:

‘By God, we were obviously in error,

Verse 102
Would that we had a second chance [in life], so that we could be believers’.
Verse 103
Indeed, there is in this a sure sign; yet most of them will not believe.
Verse 104
ﯪﯫﯬﯭﯮ

And indeed it is your Lord who is the Mighty One, the Ever-Merciful.

Verse 111
