Verse 1
ﮊﮋﮌﮍ
ﮎ
I swear by the Day of Resurrection,
Verse 2
ﮏﮐﮑﮒ
ﮓ
and I swear by the self-reproaching soul!
Verse 3
ﮔﮕﮖﮗﮘ
ﮙ
Does man think that We cannot reassemble his bones?
Verse 4
ﮚﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟ
ﮠ
In fact, We are able to restore even his very fingertips.
Verse 5
ﮡﮢﮣﮤﮥ
ﮦ
But man desires to persists in his evil ways,
Verse 6
ﮧﮨﮩﮪ
ﮫ
and asks [mockingly], “When is the Day of Resurrection?”
Verse 7
ﮬﮭﮮ
ﮯ
But when eyes are dazzled,
Verse 8
ﮰﮱ
ﯓ
and the moon is darkened,
Verse 9
ﯔﯕﯖ
ﯗ
and the sun and the moon are brought together,
Verse 10
ﯘﯙﯚﯛﯜ
ﯝ
on that Day man will say, “Where is the escape?”
Verse 11
ﯞﯟﯠ
ﯡ
No indeed! There will be no refuge.
Verse 12
ﯢﯣﯤﯥ
ﯦ
On that Day all will end up before your Lord.
Verse 13
ﯧﯨﯩﯪﯫﯬ
ﯭ
On that Day man will be informed of what he has sent forth and left behind.
Verse 14
ﯮﯯﯰﯱﯲ
ﯳ
In fact, man will be a witness against himself,
Verse 15
ﯴﯵﯶ
ﯷ
despite the excuses he may put forward.
Verse 16
ﯸﯹﯺﯻﯼﯽ
ﯾ
Do not move your tongue [O Prophet] in haste trying to memorize it.
Verse 17
ﯿﰀﰁﰂ
ﰃ
It is upon Us to make you memorize and recite it.
Verse 18
ﰄﰅﰆﰇ
ﰈ
Then when We recite it [through Gabriel], follow its recitation attentively;
Verse 19
ﰉﰊﰋﰌ
ﰍ
then it is upon Us to explain its meanings.
Verse 20
ﭑﭒﭓﭔ
ﭕ
No indeed! You [people] love this fleeting world,
Verse 21
ﭖﭗ
ﭘ
and neglect the Hereafter.
Verse 22
ﭙﭚﭛ
ﭜ
On that Day some faces will be bright,
Verse 23
ﭝﭞﭟ
ﭠ
looking at their Lord.
Verse 24
ﭡﭢﭣ
ﭤ
And on that Day, some faces will be gloomy,
Verse 25
ﭥﭦﭧﭨﭩ
ﭪ
knowing that a crushing calamity will befall them.
Verse 26
ﭫﭬﭭﭮ
ﭯ
Indeed, when the soul reaches the throat,
Verse 27
ﭰﭱﭲﭳ
ﭴ
and it is said, “Is there any healer?”
Verse 28
ﭵﭶﭷ
ﭸ
And he realizes that it is time to depart,
Verse 29
ﭹﭺﭻ
ﭼ
when legs are brought together [in a shroud];
Verse 30
ﭽﭾﭿﮀ
ﮁ
on that Day, he will be driven to your Lord.
Verse 31
ﮂﮃﮄﮅ
ﮆ
He neither believed nor prayed;
Verse 32
ﮇﮈﮉ
ﮊ
rather he denied and turned away,
Verse 33
ﮋﮌﮍﮎﮏ
ﮐ
then went swaggering to his people,
Verse 34
ﮑﮒﮓ
ﮔ
Woe to you [O man], and woe!
Verse 35
ﮕﮖﮗﮘ
ﮙ
Again, woe to you, and woe!
Verse 36
ﮚﮛﮜﮝﮞ
ﮟ
Does man think that he will be left neglected?
Verse 37
ﮠﮡﮢﮣﮤﮥ
ﮦ
Was he not once a drop of semen emitted,
Verse 38
ﮧﮨﮩﮪﮫ
ﮬ
then he became a clinging clot, then He created him and perfected his form,
Verse 39
ﮭﮮﮯﮰﮱ
ﯓ
and made from him both genders, male and female?
Verse 40
Is not He able to bring the dead back to life?
