Ar-Rahman
(55:1) The Merciful One

ﭹﭺ
ﭻ
(55:2) has taught the Qur'an,1
Verse 3
ﭼﭽ
ﭾ
(55:3) has created man,2
Verse 4
ﭿﮀ
ﮁ
(55:4) and has taught him articulate speech.3
Verse 5

ﮅ
(55:5) The sun and the moon follow a reckoning,4

ﮆﮇﮈ
ﮉ
(55:6) and the stars5 and the trees all prostrate themselves,

(55:7) and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance7
Verse 8
ﮏﮐﮑﮒ

(55:8) that you may not transgress in the balance,

(55:9) but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance.8

(55:10) And He9 has set up the earth for all beings.0

(55:11) Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths,

(55:12) and a variety of corn with both husk and grain.1

(55:13) Which of the bounties of your Lord2 will you twain –
you men and jinn – then deny?3

(55:14) He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's,4

(55:15) and has created the jinn from the flame of fire.5

(55:16) Which of the wonders of your Lord's power6 will you twain
– you men and jinn – then deny?

(55:17) Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He.7

(55:19) He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together,

(55:20) and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep.9

(55:22) From these seas come forth pearls0 and coral.1

(55:23) Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men

(55:24) His are the ships,3 towering on the sea like mountains.

(55:26) All5 that is on earth will perish,

(55:27) only the Person of your Lord, full of majesty and splendour, will

(55:31) O you twain, who are a burden (on the earth),9 We shall
attend to you and call you to account.0

(55:32) (We shall then see), which of the favours of your Lord will you twain
– you men and jinn – then deny?1

(55:33) O company of jinn and men, if you have the power to go beyond the
bounds of the heavens and the earth, go beyond them! Yet you will be unable
to go beyond them for that requires infinite power.2

be lashed at you, which you shall be unable to withstand.

(55:76) They shall be reclining on green cushions and splendid carpets.2
