Verse 1
ﮢﮣ
ﮤ
In the Name of God, the Lord of Grace, the Ever-Merciful. By those that pluck out vehemently,
Verse 2
ﮥﮦ
ﮧ
and those that move forward rapidly;
Verse 3
ﮨﮩ
ﮪ
by those that float along at ease,
Verse 4
ﮫﮬ
ﮭ
and those that outstrip swiftly,
Verse 5
ﮮﮯ
ﮰ
and those that conduct matters.
Verse 6
ﮱﯓﯔ
ﯕ
On the Day when a violent convulsion will [be overwhelming],
Verse 7
ﯖﯗ
ﯘ
To be soon followed by a further [convulsion],
Verse 8
ﯙﯚﯛ
ﯜ
all hearts shall be filled with terror,
Verse 9
ﯝﯞ
ﯟ
and all eyes shall be downcast.
Verse 10
ﯠﯡﯢﯣﯤ
ﯥ
They say, ‘What! Are we being restored to our former state,
Verse 11
ﯦﯧﯨﯩ
ﯪ
Even though we have become [no more than] hollow bones?’
Verse 12
ﯫﯬﯭﯮﯯ
ﯰ
They say, ‘That will be a return with loss’.
Verse 13
ﯱﯲﯳﯴ
ﯵ
But with just one blast
Verse 14
ﯶﯷﯸ
ﯹ
they shall be alive on earth.
Verse 15
ﯺﯻﯼﯽ
ﯾ
Have you heard the story of Moses?
Verse 16
ﯿﰀﰁﰂﰃﰄ
ﰅ
His Lord called out to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,
Verse 17
ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕ
ﭖ
saying: ‘Go to Pharoah: he has transgressed all bounds,
Verse 18
ﭗﭘﭙﭚﭛﭜ
ﭝ
and say to him: “Would you like to reform yourself?
Verse 19
ﭞﭟﭠﭡ
ﭢ
I will guide you to your Lord, so that you may be in awe of Him”.’
Verse 20
ﭣﭤﭥ
ﭦ
He showed Pharaoh the mightiest miracle,
Verse 21
ﭧﭨ
ﭩ
but Pharaoh cried lies and rebelled.
Verse 22
ﭪﭫﭬ
ﭭ
He then turned away hastily.
Verse 23
ﭮﭯ
ﭰ
He summoned all his men and made a proclamation to them:
Verse 24
ﭱﭲﭳﭴ
ﭵ
‘I am your supreme Lord,’ he said.
Verse 25
ﭶﭷﭸﭹﭺ
ﭻ
God smote him with the scourge of both the life to come and this life.
Verse 26
ﭼﭽﭾﭿﮀﮁ
ﮂ
Surely in this there is a lesson for the God-fearing.
Verse 27
Which is stronger in constitution: you or the heaven He has built?
Verse 28
ﮋﮌﮍ
ﮎ
He raised it high and gave it its perfect shape,
Verse 29
ﮏﮐﮑﮒ
ﮓ
and gave darkness to its night, and brought out its daylight.
Verse 30
ﮔﮕﮖﮗ
ﮘ
After that He spread out the earth.
Verse 31
ﮙﮚﮛﮜ
ﮝ
He brought out water from it, and brought forth its pastures;
Verse 32
ﮞﮟ
ﮠ
and the mountains He set firm,
Verse 33
ﮡﮢﮣ
ﮤ
for you and your cattle to delight in.
Verse 34
ﮥﮦﮧﮨ
ﮩ
Then, when the great, overwhelming event comes to pass –
Verse 35
ﮪﮫﮬﮭﮮ
ﮯ
On that Day man will clearly remember what he has done,
Verse 36
ﮰﮱﯓﯔ
ﯕ
When hell is brought in sight of all who are looking on;
Verse 37
ﯖﯗﯘ
ﯙ
then, he who transgressed the bounds of what is right,
Verse 38
ﯚﯛﯜ
ﯝ
and chose this present life
Verse 39
ﯞﯟﯠﯡ
ﯢ
will have hell for his dwelling place.
Verse 40
But he who feared that he will stand before his Lord and forbade his soul its base desire
Verse 41
ﯭﯮﯯﯰ
ﯱ
will dwell in paradise.
Verse 42
ﯲﯳﯴﯵﯶ
ﯷ
They question you about the Last Hour, when will it come to pass?
Verse 43
ﯸﯹﯺﯻ
ﯼ
But why should you be concerned with its exact timing?
Verse 44
ﯽﯾﯿ
ﰀ
The final word concerning it belongs to your Lord.
Verse 45
ﰁﰂﰃﰄﰅ
ﰆ
Your mission is merely to warn those who fear it.
Verse 46
On the Day when they see that hour, it will seem to them that their life on earth had spanned only one evening, or one morning.
