Verse 1
ﮪﮫ
ﮬ
Al-Muddaththir
O you, enveloped in a mantle,
Verse 2
ﮭﮮ
ﮯ
stand up and warn,
Verse 3
ﮰﮱ
ﯓ
and pronounce the greatness of your Lord,
Verse 4
ﯔﯕ
ﯖ
and purify your clothes,
Verse 5
ﯗﯘ
ﯙ
and keep away from filth,
Verse 6
ﯚﯛﯜ
ﯝ
and do not do a favour (to anyone merely) to seek more (in return).
Verse 7
ﯞﯟ
ﯠ
And for the sake of your Lord, observe patience.
Verse 8
ﯡﯢﯣﯤ
ﯥ
For when the trumpet will be blown,
Verse 9
ﯦﯧﯨﯩ
ﯪ
that day will be a difficult day,
Verse 10
ﯫﯬﯭﯮ
ﯯ
not easy for the disbelievers.
Verse 11
ﯰﯱﯲﯳ
ﯴ
Leave me alone (to deal) with the one whom I created lonely,
Verse 12
ﯵﯶﯷﯸ
ﯹ
and gave him extensive wealth,
Verse 13
ﯺﯻ
ﯼ
and sons present before (his) eyes,
Verse 14
ﯽﯾﯿ
ﰀ
and extended (power and honour) to him pretty well.
Verse 15
ﰁﰂﰃﰄ
ﰅ
Still, he aspires that I should give him more.
Verse 16
ﰆﰇﰈﰉﰊﰋ
ﰌ
Never! He is inimical towards Our verses.
Verse 17
ﰍﰎ
ﰏ
I will force him to climb the mountain Sa‘ūd.
Verse 18
ﰐﰑﰒ
ﰓ
He pondered and surmised.
Verse 19
ﭑﭒﭓ
ﭔ
Death onto him! How (bad) is the surmise he put forward!
Verse 20
ﭕﭖﭗﭘ
ﭙ
Again, death unto him! How (bad) is the surmise he put forward!
Verse 21
ﭚﭛ
ﭜ
Then he looked (to those around him,)
Verse 22
ﭝﭞﭟ
ﭠ
then he frowned and scowled,
Verse 23
ﭡﭢﭣ
ﭤ
then turned his back, and waxed proud,
Verse 24
ﭥﭦﭧﭨﭩﭪ
ﭫ
then said, “This is nothing but traditional magic;
Verse 25
ﭬﭭﭮﭯﭰ
ﭱ
this is nothing but saying of a mortal.”
Verse 26
ﭲﭳ
ﭴ
I will put him into Saqar (Hell).
Verse 27
ﭵﭶﭷﭸ
ﭹ
And what can let you know what Saqar is?
Verse 28
ﭺﭻﭼﭽ
ﭾ
It neither spares (anything inside it from burning) nor leaves (any disbeliever outside).
Verse 29
ﭿﮀ
ﮁ
It will disfigure the skins.
Verse 30
ﮂﮃﮄ
ﮅ
Appointed on it are nineteen (wardens).
And We did not make wardens of the Fire but (from) angels, and did not fix their number but as a test for those who disbelieve, so that those who are given the Book may come to believe, and those who believe may improve in belief, and so that those who are given the Book and those who believe may not doubt (its correctness), and so that those having malady in their hearts and the disbelievers say, “What has Allah meant by this strange statement?” Thus Allah lets go astray whomever He wills, and leads to the right path whomever He wills. And no one knows the hosts of your Lord but He. And this is nothing else but a reminder for mankind.
Verse 32
ﯥﯦ
ﯧ
Truly, I swear by the moon,
Verse 33
ﯨﯩﯪ
ﯫ
and by the night when it goes back,
Verse 34
ﯬﯭﯮ
ﯯ
and by the morning when it becomes bright,
Verse 35
ﯰﯱﯲ
ﯳ
it (Saqar :Hell) is one of the greatest things
Verse 36
ﯴﯵ
ﯶ
as a warning to the mankind,
Verse 37
to the one from among you who wishes to come forward (towards good deeds) or to go back (from them).
Verse 38
ﯿﰀﰁﰂﰃ
ﰄ
Everyone will be detained (in the Hell) because of what he did,
Verse 39
ﰅﰆﰇ
ﰈ
except the People of the Right, (i.e. those who will be given their Book of Deeds in their right hands)
Verse 40
ﰉﰊﰋ
ﰌ
who will be in gardens, asking
Verse 41
ﰍﰎ
ﰏ
about the guilty persons,
Verse 42
ﰐﰑﰒﰓ
ﰔ
“What has brought you to Saqar? (Hell)”
Verse 43
ﰕﰖﰗﰘﰙ
ﰚ
They will say, “We were not among those who offered Salāh , (obligatory prayer)
Verse 44
ﰛﰜﰝﰞ
ﰟ
and we did not give food to the needy,
Verse 45
ﰠﰡﰢﰣ
ﰤ
and we indulged (in mocking at the truth) along with those who indulged,
Verse 46
ﰥﰦﰧﰨ
ﰩ
and we used to deny the Day of Requital,
Verse 47
ﰪﰫﰬ
ﰭ
until when we were overtaken by that which is certain.”
Verse 48
ﭑﭒﭓﭔ
ﭕ
Then intercession of intercessors will not benefit them.
Verse 49
ﭖﭗﭘﭙﭚ
ﭛ
So what has happened to them that they are turning away from the Reminder,
Verse 50
ﭜﭝﭞ
ﭟ
as if they were wild donkeys,
Verse 51
ﭠﭡﭢ
ﭣ
fleeing from a lion?
Verse 52
Rather, every one of them wishes that he should be given unrolled (divine) scriptures.
Verse 53
ﭮﭯﭰﭱﭲﭳ
ﭴ
Never! But they do not fear the Hereafter.
Verse 54
ﭵﭶﭷ
ﭸ
Never! Indeed, this is a Reminder.
Verse 55
ﭹﭺﭻ
ﭼ
So, whoever so wishes may take advice from it.
Verse 56
And they will not take advice unless Allah so wills. He is worthy to be feared, and worthy to forgive.
