(29) It was not but one shout,[1264] and immediately they were extinguished.

29. It was but one Saihah (shout) and lo! they (all) were still (silent,dead,destroyed).

إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمۡ خَٰمِدُونَ
Decidedly it was nothing except one Shout; then, only then, were they (utterly) extinct.

إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمۡ خَٰمِدُونَ

29. Thus the incident of the destruction of his people was simply one blast which we sent upon them and they fell down with nothing remaining. Their example is like that of a fire that was burning and then was extinguished, leaving behind no trace.
