آية رقم 1

ﮃﮄﮅ ﮆ ​

Al-Waqi'ah

(56:1) When the Event will come to pass

آية رقم 2

ﮇﮈﮉ ﮊ ​

(56:2) – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence¹
–

آية رقم 3

ﮋﮌ ﮍ ​

(56:3) (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down:²

آية رقم 4

ﮎﮏﮐﮑ ﮒ ​

(56:4) when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking,³

آية رقم 5

ﮓﮔﮕ ﮖ ​

(56:5) and the mountains will crumble

آية رقم 6

ﮗﮘﮙ ﮚ ​

(56:6) and will scatter abroad into fine dust.

آية رقم 7

ﮛﮜﮝ ﮞ ​

(56:7) You shall then become three groups.⁴

آية رقم 8

ﮟﮠﮡﮢﮣ ﮤ ​

(56:8) The People on the Right:⁵ and how fortunate will be the
People on the Right!

آية رقم 9

ﮥﮦﮧﮨﮩ ﮪ ​

(56:9) And the People on the Left:⁶ and how miserable will be
the People on the Left!

آية رقم 10

ﮫﮬ ﮭ ​

(56:10) As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost!⁷

آية رقم 11

ﮮﮯ ﮰ ​

(56:11) They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord),

آية رقم 12

ﮱﯓﯔ ﯕ ​

(56:12) in the Gardens of Bliss.

آية رقم 13

ﯖﯗﯘ ﯙ ​

(56:13) A throng of the ancients,

آية رقم 14

ﯚﯛﯜ ﯝ ​

(56:14) and a few from later times.⁸

آية رقم 15

ﯞﯟﯠ ﯡ ​

(56:15) They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches,

آية رقم 16

ﯢﯣﯤ ﯥ ​

(56:16) reclining on them, arrayed face to face;

آية رقم 17

ﭑﭒﭓﭔ ﭕ ​

(56:17) immortal youths shall go about them⁹

آية رقم 18

ﭖﭗﭘﭙﭚ ﭛ ​

(56:18) with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a
running spring,

آية رقم 19

ﭜﭝﭞﭟﭠ ﭡ ​

(56:19) a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause
drunkenness;⁰

آية رقم 20

ﭢﭣﭤ ﭥ ​

(56:20) they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose,

آية رقم 21

ﭦﭧﭨﭩ ﭪ ​

(56:21) and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat;¹

آية رقم 22

ﭫﭬ ﭭ ​

(56:22) and there shall be wide-eyed maidens,

آية رقم 23

ﭮﭯﭰ ﭱ ​

(56:23) beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells.²

آية رقم 24

ﭲﭳﭴﭵ ﭶ ​

(56:24) All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds.

آية رقم 25

ﭷﭸﭹﭺﭻﭼ ﭽ ​

(56:25) There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech.³

آية رقم 26

ﭾﭿﮀﮁ ﮂ ​

(56:26) All talk will be sound and upright.⁴

آية رقم 27

ﮃﮄﮅﮆﮇ ﮈ ​

(56:27) As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people
on the Right!

آية رقم 28

ﮉﮊﮋ ﮌ ​

(56:28) They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees,⁵

آية رقم 29

ﮍﮎ ﮏ ​

(56:29) and flower-clad acacias,

آية رقم 30

ﮐﮑ ﮒ ​

(56:30) and extended shade,

آية رقم 31

ﮓﮔ ﮕ ​

(56:31) and gushing water,

آية رقم 32

ﮖﮗ ﮘ ​

(56:32) and abundant fruit,⁶

آية رقم 33

ﮙﮚﮛﮜ ﮝ ​

(56:33) never-ending and unforbidden.

آية رقم 34

ﮞﮟ ﮠ ​

(56:34) They shall be on upraised couches,

آية رقم 35

ﮡﮢﮣ ﮤ ​

(56:35) and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh,

آية رقم 36

ﮥﮦ ﮧ ​

(56:36) and shall have made them virgins,⁷

آية رقم 37

ﮨﮩ ﮪ ​

(56:37) intensely loving⁸ and of matching age.⁹

آية رقم 38

ﮫﮬ ﮭ ​

(56:38) All this will be for the People on the Right;

آية رقم 39

ﮮﮯﮰ ﮱ ​

(56:39) a large throng from the ancients,

آية رقم 40

ﯓﯔﯕ ﯖ ​

(56:40) and also a large throng from those of later times.

آية رقم 41

ﯗﯘﯙﯚﯛ ﯜ ​

(56:41) As for the People on the Left: how miserable will be the People on
the Left!

آية رقم 42

ﯝﯞﯟ ﯠ ​

(56:42) They will be in the midst of scorching wind and boiling water,

آية رقم 43

ﯡﯢﯣ ﯤ ​

(56:43) and a shade of thick, pitch-black smoke,

آية رقم 44

ﯥﯦﯧﯨ ﯩ ​

(56:44) which will neither be cool nor soothing.

آية رقم 45

ﯪﯫﯬﯭﯮ ﯯ ​

(56:45) Surely they had lived before in luxury,

آية رقم 46

ﯰﯱﯲﯳﯴ ﯵ ​

(56:46) and had persisted in the Great Sin.⁰

آية رقم 47

ﯶﯷﯸﯹﯺﯻﯼﯽﯾ ﯿ ​

(56:47) They used to say: “What! Once we are dead and are reduced to dust
and bones, shall we still be raised to a new life from the dead?

آية رقم 48

ﰀﰁ ﰂ ​

(56:48) (We) and our fore-fathers of yore?”

آية رقم 49

ﰃﰄﰅﰆ ﰇ ​

(56:49) Tell them, (O Prophet): “The earlier ones and the later ones

آية رقم 50

ﰈﰉﰊﰋﰌ ﰍ ​

(56:50) shall all be brought together on an appointed Day.

آية رقم 51

ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕ ﭖ ​

(56:51) Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth,

آية رقم 52

ﭗﭘﭙﭚﭛ ﭜ ​

(56:52) shall all eat from the Tree of al-Zaqqum,¹

آية رقم 53

ﭝﭞﭟ ﭠ ​

(56:53) filling your bellies with it;

آية رقم 54

ﭡﭢﭣﭤ ﭥ ​

(56:54) and thereupon you shall drink boiling water,

آية رقم 55

ﭦﭧﭨ ﭩ ​

(56:55) drinking it as thirsty camels do.”

آية رقم 56

ﭪﭫﭬﭭ ﭮ ​

(56:56) Thus shall they be entertained on the Day of Recompense.

آية رقم 57

ﭯﭰﭱﭲ ﭳ ​

(56:57) We have created you,² then why would you not confirm
it?³

آية رقم 58

ﭴﭵﭶ ﭷ ​

(56:58) Did you ever consider the sperm that you emit?

آية رقم 59

ﭸﭹﭺﭻﭼ ﭽ ​

(56:59) Do you create a child out of it, or are We its creators?⁴

آية رقم 60

ﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂﮃﮄ ﮅ ​

(56:60) It is We Who ordained death upon you⁵ and We are not
to be frustrated.

آية رقم 61

ﮆﮇﮈﮉﮊﮋﮌﮍﮎ ﮏ ​

(56:61) Had We so wished, nothing could have hindered Us from replacing you
by others like yourselves, or transforming you into beings you know nothing
about.⁶

آية رقم 62

ﮐﮑﮒﮓﮔﮕ ﮖ ​

(56:62) You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson
from it?⁷

آية رقم 63

ﮗﮘﮙ ﮚ ​

(56:63) Have you considered the seeds you till?

آية رقم 64

ﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟ ﮠ ​

(56:64) Is it you or We Who make them grow?⁸

آية رقم 65

ﮡﮢﮣﮤﮥﮦ ﮧ ​

(56:65) If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and
you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim:

آية رقم 66

ﮨﮩ ﮪ ​

(56:66) “We have been penalised;

آية رقم 67

ﮫﮬﮭ ﮮ ​

(56:67) nay; we have been undone!”

آية رقم 68

ﮯﮰﮱﯓ ﯔ ​

(56:68) Did you cast a good look at the water that you drink?

آية رقم 69

ﯕﯖﯗﯘﯙﯚﯛ ﯜ ​

(56:69) Is it you who brought it down from the clouds or is it We Who brought
it down?⁹

آية رقم 70

ﯝﯞﯟﯠﯡﯢ ﯣ ​

(56:70) If We had so pleased, We could have made it bitter.⁰
So why would you not give thanks?¹

آية رقم 71

ﯤﯥﯦﯧ ﯨ ​

(56:71) Did you consider the fire which you kindle?

آية رقم 72

ﯩﯪﯫﯬﯭﯮ ﯯ ​

(56:72) Did you make its tree² grow or was it We Who made it
grow?

آية رقم 73

ﯰﯱﯲﯳﯴ ﯵ ​

(56:73) We made it a reminder³ and a provision for the needy.⁴

آية رقم 74

ﯶﯷﯸﯹ ﯺ ​

(56:74) Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord.⁵

آية رقم 75

ﯻﯼﯽﯾﯿ ﰀ ​

(56:75) No!⁶ I swear by the positions of the stars –

آية رقم 76

ﰁﰂﰃﰄﰅ ﰆ ​

(56:76) and this is indeed a mighty oath, if only you knew –

آية رقم 77

ﭑﭒﭓ ﭔ ​

(56:77) that this indeed is a noble Qur'an,⁷

آية رقم 78

ﭕﭖﭗ ﭘ ​

(56:78) inscribed in a well-guarded Book,⁸

آية رقم 79

ﭙﭚﭛﭜ ﭝ ​

(56:79) which none but the pure may touch;⁹

آية رقم 80

ﭞﭟﭠﭡ ﭢ ​

(56:80) a revelation from the Lord of the Universe.

آية رقم 81

ﭣﭤﭥﭦ ﭧ ​

(56:81) Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem,⁰

آية رقم 82

ﭨﭩﭪﭫ ﭬ ​

(56:82) and your portion in it is simply that you denounce it as false?¹

آية رقم 83

ﭭﭮﭯﭰ ﭱ ​

(56:83) Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat,

آية رقم 84

ﭲﭳﭴ ﭵ ​

(56:84) the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of
death,

آية رقم 85

ﭶﭷﭸﭹﭺﭻﭼ ﭽ ​

(56:85) – at that moment when We are closer to him than you, although you
do not see (Us)

آية رقم 86

ﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂ ﮃ ​

(56:86) if you are not subject to anyone's authority,

آية رقم 87

ﮄﮅﮆﮇ ﮈ ​

(56:87) why are you then not able to bring them back to life if you are truthful?

آية رقم 88

ﮉﮊﮋﮌﮍ ﮎ ​

(56:88) So if he is one of those who are near-stationed (to Allah),

آية رقم 89

ﮏﮐﮑﮒ ﮓ ​

(56:89) then happiness and delight and Gardens of Bliss are his.

آية رقم 90

ﮔﮕﮖﮗﮘﮙ ﮚ ​

(56:90) And if he is one of the People on the Right,

آية رقم 91

ﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟ ﮠ ​

(56:91) he will be welcomed by the words: “Peace to you” from the People
on the Right.

آية رقم 92

ﮡﮢﮣﮤﮥﮦ ﮧ ​

(56:92) And if he is one of those who give the lie (to this Message) and
go astray,

آية رقم 93

ﮨﮩﮪ ﮫ ​

(56:93) then he will be served boiling water,

آية رقم 94

ﮬﮭ ﮮ ​

(56:94) and will be scorched by the Fire.

آية رقم 95

ﮯﮰﮱﯓﯔ ﯕ ​

(56:95) That indeed is the absolute truth.

آية رقم 96

ﯖﯗﯘﯙ ﯚ ​

(56:96) So glorify the name of your Great Lord.²
